Story
History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own!
A Note from the Foster: Meet the best boy, lover of love, happiest of dogs, future best friend and adventure buddy, Zachary! This guy is a true GEM, a total goofball with a heart of gold and just the right amount of playfulness, attentiveness and affection. After a rough start to life, he is eager to be welcomed into a loving family of his very own!
Texas listed Zachary as a golden/shepherd mix, though he also gives definite lab vibes… what an incredible combination! He’s estimated to be around one year old, is 65 lbs with still a little room to grow into his long lanky legs and tall frame. He doesn’t realize his large size, has zero awareness of personal space, and finds it endlessly entertaining to be by your side. Going to the bathroom, sweet, he’ll join you! Laying on the couch, he’ll lay right on top of you for a tummy scratch! Have some yummy food you’re eating, awesome, he’ll have some! Want to take a selfie with him, he’s already smiling pretty for the camera!
This boy loves food, is easily trained, sleeps through the night, is quiet in his crate and is potty trained. He will let out the occasional bark at something suspicious outside and will also whine with excitement when he gets to see you after any amount of time away, otherwise he’s a pretty quiet guy! He takes redirection well and just needs to learn some basic puppy manners and he’ll be the perfect roommate. Zachary is people friendly, LOVES our kids, is dog friendly and would do great in almost any family situation. He hasn’t been around cats would likely do best in a home without small children as he doesn’t realize his size and could accidentally knock someone over.
Zachary was found to have arthritis in his left front leg due to some kind of trauma before he came to us, but that doesn’t slow him down one bit. He really is the best and won’t be available for long, send in your application today if you can be the loving family this sweet boy deserves!
