Story
Meet Chewie! This 47 pound retriever mix is an outgoing and energetic boy that loves playing fetch, long walks and runs, and zooming around in the back yard. We think that this handsome boy would do best in an adult only household with owners that are used to handling higher energy breeds. If you live in a home that could use a little (or a lot) more excitement, be sure to apply to adopt Chewie today!

Story
HONEY is a F1B Goldendoodle that was rescued from a puppy mill. She is a sanctuary dog that is available under our Foster to Adopt program. She is 6 years old. She had an injured leg which required ACL surgery which we had done in 2019. She was terrified of people when she first came.. She was rescued in 2019 when she was one year old. Honey has come around. Her fear is getting better with people. Once she bonds with someone she is the sweetest most loveable dog to them. Like others in our sanctuary she will never be a social butterfly. Honey gets groomed every 2 months and rides in the car well, She will walk on a leash to the groomers building. This has become a routine. She needs routines. If she is famillair with a place she will do well. She will probably never walk on a leash for daily walks, she will be too afraid. She just needs her back yard and her home. If you ever go on vacation she will need a dog sitter in your home. She will never do well taking a trip or going to boarding. Honey has become a bit protective of her people. If you have company she will stay away, however there have been incidents when a stranger turns their back she will try to nip at their butt or ankles then run away when they turn around. We feel she protecting us. We would not call this aggression it has never led to more than a nip and then she runs the other way. She does not do it with all people. The key would be for her to get to know your guests with treats. She would do best in a home with no children because of the possible nipping . She is good with dogs, however she will be the alpha dog. She does not play with other dogs either, she just wants her people. She is a calm dog. She has no anxiety really. You can leave her to free roam. She never uses a crate. She can be trusted. She will not chew or get into anything.  She needs a secure fenced in yard and someone home during the day. You must be located within 50 miles of Grovertown, Indiana.  She is vaccinated, spayed , microchipped. Her adoption fee is $100 For more information on our Foster to Adopt Program go to this link https://indianasaveadog.com/foster-to-adopt ##2057193##

Story
PLEASE READ HIS DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY BEFORE INQUIRING OR FILLING OUT AN APPLICATION. Leo needs a physically active person in his life such as a jogger, runner or avid walker ..... and someone who works out of their home. Leo, is 80 lbs and 1 ½ years old. He is a Standard poodle, English Setter mix. He was purchased from a Breeder when he was a puppy. He is still with his owner, although he needs to find a new home. Leo is a wonderful boy …however; he has separation anxiety when his owner goes to work. Leo loves to play, and plays hard. NO SMALL DOGS. If you have a dog it should be a large dog.  Leo can also have a destructive side , although we believe that most of his issues stem from being home alone and crated almost every day due to his owner's work schedule. Leo hates crates, and will become destructive and highly anxious when forced to go in one. His owners are surrendering him because they have come to realize that they cannot meet his needs of companionship, activity level, and mental stimulation. He would also benefit from Obedience Training and/or Doggy Day care. He is housebroken and rings the bell when he wants to go outside. After he comes in, he will return and ring the bell again… this could continue all day. He loves to go outside. He is a very smart boy. Leo also sleeps in his owner’s bed at night and he can be a couch potato too. This is a heartbreaking decision for his family, however they want the best home for Leo, and they know it is not theirs.  Leo needs a fenced secure fenced in back yard. He is big enough to jump a 4' fence. Leo also needs a home with no children or children that are 13 or older because of his high energy and size.  He is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and microchipped.  His adoption fee is $100. Leo is located in Valparaiso, Indiana.  Please go to our website at www.indianasaveadog.com to put in your application. ##2299980##
