Meet Bear This 3-year-old Norwegian Elkhound is as lovable as his name suggests! Bear is a friendly, affectionate boy who greets everyone he meets like an old friend. New people? No problem—he’s happy to say hello, especially if it involves one of his favorite things: hugs! Bear is the perfect mix of sweet and well-mannered. He walks beautifully on a leash, making him an excellent companion for strolls around the neighborhood or adventures out and about. Whether you’re out for a walk or relaxing at home, he’s just happy to be by your side (preferably leaning in for some extra love). Bear is currently being treated for Lyme disease and is doing well. Our team is happy to talk with you about his care and what that looks like moving forward.

Story
Scout is a very sweet 8 year old purebred Norwegian Elkhound. I am *fostering* him as his mom moved and can no longer house him. He gets along great with my dogs and cats, and is no trouble at all. Actually, I would keep him but I have too many pets of my own. He is overweight, and I have him on a weight loss diet, feeding him twice a day. He loves to go outside. He rarely barks (which is unusual for an Elkhound, lol). He would make a nice companion for someone who wants a nice calm dog to keep them company.
