Story
Meet Sophie, a two year old Great Pyrenees mix. Sophie is a sweet girl who weighs in at 77 pounds, so she isn't massive like others with her breed mix. She is a very sweet girl who doesn't like being in her kennel, she much prefers being around her people which isn't uncommon for this breed. We would love someone to adopt her that knows the breed or has done research into the breed. Sophie has a great, calm disposition and walks well on leash. She is a snuggler and enjoys all the head scratches. If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been processed. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Sunday, that's right we are open all days of the week! A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.

Story
Meet Fourteen, an eight year old Great Pyrenees/German Shepherd mix. Fourteen is a sweetheart of a girl who was found wandering in town with Nero. Weighing in at 95 pounds she is definitely a big girl but that isn't surprised when you consider her breed mix. Fourteen is looking for a retirement home that will give her lots of love and some snuggle time. She isn't too sure of the leash at first but never really pulls and just wants to follow you then crawl between your legs for some comfort. Fourteen lives for her belly rubs and has a gentle disposition. This pet is available for adoption on 9/8/2024 at 9:45 AM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
