Story
Cas is a 6yr old giant lover to most people. He is very protective of his owners but tends to be overwhelming when walking in public. Cas is over 100 ibs and when other dogs are nearby he does what any dog would do and barks and try’s to pull (drag at his size lol) towards them. The barking and pulling is aggressive and intimidating to other dog owners and I’m not comfortable engaging. I have a newborn and with his aggression and past trauma (he flinches and tries to nip from tests I’ve done) i don’t want to chance my baby being bit. Cas is good motivated and lounges around all day. He does like going outside and is trained to basic commands (sit, stay, down). For his new home I am hoping the family can give him more attention than I have and be ready for shedding and slob everywhere. I ask that if you have children/dogs please focus on training/be present if the children are not old enough to be left unattended. He is not a picky eater loves to sigh and groan when he wants something. 😃

I have tested heartworm positive. This means I have a parasite and need treatment. While my friends at HSNBA desperately want to help me, the shelter is too stressful an environment to undertake treatment and treatment itself is very expensive. The shelter has a few options to help with treatment, and if I steal your heart you should talk with them and your vet about what my treatment is like. For more information on heartworms, please visit the American Heartworm Society here https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basicsI am currently in a foster home and not at HSNBA, if you are interested in meeting me, please contact the nice folks at HSNBA so they can put you in contact with my foster family to set up a meet & greet. E-mail HSNBA at adoption@hsnba.org, call us at: (830) 629-5287 or stop by and speak with the folks at HSNBA at 3353 Morningside Dr. to get your information sent over to my foster home. My foster family is the best and can give you more information on me.HSNBA lists all animals online from the moment of intake, and our listings are updated automatically every midnight.
