Story
Clocking in at just over 100 pounds and just under 3 years of age, Paulie is a beautiful example of the Newfoundland breed. She has a gorgeous shiny coat and is at about her ideal weight for her frame. She loves attention! If your idea of the perfect Newfie is the goofy slobbery goober from the movie Beethoven who loves everyone and everything and wants to lounge around all day, then keep scrolling. Paulie is not for you. Prior to coming in to rescue, Paulie lived mostly outside and had the run of an unfenced property. An unspayed female on an unfenced property along a busy road was going to be a recipe for disaster at some point, so her previous owners made the decision to surrendered her to rescue. Although Paulie was obviously well-loved, she didn't get the training and discipline and socialization at an early age that would serve her well as she grew. Paulie adjusted pretty quickly to being a mostly inside dog. She absolutely doesn't like being crated but has done well when confined to a gated off room. She is housebroken when taken out regularly, although accidents can happen when changing to a new environment. Paulie would love to have a fenced-in property to regain some of the freedom she previously had, so a home with a fence is a high priority. She was originally overly interested in cats, but over time has improved. A household with a dog-savvy cat is an option with careful and slow introduction. She would do best in a home where it is the only dog. She would prefer to have all of your attention! Although she generally walks well on a leash, she can be distracted by cars, other dogs, and people. Her leash-walking skills have improved dramatically with practice, but this is not a dog you can walk while scrolling your phone and drinking a cup of coffee! In her foster home, she has demonstrated a high desire to please and a willingness to learn - especially when yummy treats are involved. Her adopter should plan to continue with her training. Because of her size and strength, Paulie needs an adopter with large breed experience. She is food motivated but not food aggressive and should thrive in a household that can give her the structure and attention she needs. Paulie has had a spay and gastroplexy (surgery to tack her stomach to reduce the likelihood of bloat). She did test positive for lyme and is finishing a course of antibiotics to treat it. She is UTD on vaccines and preventatives. Paulie is being fostered in Lancaster Co., PA. We prefer potential adopters be within a two hour range of the rescue. If you think Paulie would be a good fit for your household and you have the knowledge and experience to handle an extra-large dog with personality and energy to spare, please apply by visiting our website at www.zoeshouserescue.com Zoe's House Rescue, Inc. Story
Hotchner is just a normal dog—fluffy, black, and always wagging his tail. But to him, every day is an adventure. One afternoon, Hotchner followed a strange scent to a small hole in the fence. A tiny striped tail flicked through—A Dog! Hotchner wagged his tail, hoping to make a new friend, but the Dog chittered and scurried away. Undeterred, Hotchner continued exploring. He found a long-lost tennis ball, chased a butterfly (which was much too fast), and rolled happily in the grass. By dinner, Hotchner had completed his great backyard quest. He hadn’t saved the world or solved a mystery, but he had explored, sniffed, and enjoyed the day. Curled up in bed that night, his tail gave one last happy wag. Tomorrow, another adventure awaited—because even a normal dog like Hotchner knew that every day held something exciting.

Story
My name is Rocket and I am a gentle giant. I love cuddles and playtime. Tug of war is my favorite and I love to wrestle too. I am extremely gentle with children. They are my babies and have all the patience in the world for little ones ( even if they accidentally pull me tail sometimes). So I would do great with a family. I know how to walk well on a leash and im also housetrained. I know a few commands like sit, lay down, back up, paw and touch. I need a new home because my family is moving and cant take me along. Its a very tough decision but I know Ill find a great home since Im such a sweetheart.
