Story
Marty is a striking brindle and white puppy with vivid white feet. He was born December 21. 2023. Marty and his siblings came to HART from a shelter in Kentucky. The folks dropping them off said that the mother is part Newfoundland, however, they do not have long hair like Newfoundland. They are going to be large dogs, Marty weighs 25 pounds at 13 weeks old and has large feet. It is very difficult to estimate adult weight, but could be 80 pounds. They are all in excellent health. Marty is a confident, fun loving pup. He likes children, adults, and other dogs. He enjoys playing tug of war and keep away as well as wrestling with his siblings. He has been exposed to 5 adult larger dogs during play dates 5 days a week and does well. He warms up to other dogs fast and likes to play with them. Marty likes to have his belly rubbed, and will randomly lays down with his legs sticking up for a quick rub. He also loves to lay on you lap while you watch TV, and he hugs, or presses his snout against your cheek or neck instead of licking you. He is an affectionate pup. He rides well in the car. Walks on a lead, but needs additional training. Marty is crate trained, and house training is going great, He is completely reliable when he has access to outside ( Foster has a dogging door). I have left him for 2-3 hours in the gated kitchen without accidents. The cold weather didn’t deter him from going outside. He loved the snow and was ok with med-light rain, but he didn’t appreciate the windy heavy rain. Marty is a laid back pup, his activity level is about average, plays for an hour or 2 and then rest/sleeps and hour or 2 as most puppies. He sleeps through the night in his crate (9:30 to 6:00) without protest, if he hears stirring near 6 he’ll start making noise to go out. He enjoys chew toys, tug-of-war, chewing on sticks, and playing with other dogs. He is highly food motivated, so training should be easy. Marty would do best with a fenced yard, as he loves to wonder around stiffing and playing in the flower beds or anything he can find. If you think Marty could be a good fit, submit an application and the foster will bring him to your house for a visit. All HART dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines, including bordatella and rabies. They are heartworm tested and on preventative for heartworm, fleas, and ticks. If you are interested in any of our pets, you must complete an online dog adoption application at www.rescueAhart.org . The application will put you in touch with this wonderful dog's foster family so you can schedule a meeting. Thanks! www.rescueAhart.org

Story
Jackson was adopted from the Humane society of Greate Dayton at 4 months old. Jackson is very sweet and extremely smart. He loves to play, and is super friendly. I watch my grandaughters all week who are still under 5 years old. As a result he is not getting the attention I feel he deserves. I belive he would thrive in a home with a large back yard and an owner that is able to devote more time with him.

Story
Aylin is a beautiful, 2 year old Anatolian Shepherd mix. Anatolian’s are known for their background of herding and protecting endangered species. Typically their breed are independent but not Aylin. She is 72 lbs and full of love to give. Although big, she is gentle and would love a family that matches her sweet nature. Aylin does well with meeting new people and dogs. She loves her Benebone and chewing on other toys. She came from a shelter, so she will need someone who is patient with her and help with training such as leash training (does well with a Halti collar) and redirecting during loud sounds. She loves car rides, has become a pro at jumping in and out of the SUV, and meeting new people! She eats well, will graze her food throughout the day, just don’t leave a trash can open near her. Aylin is a very special girl and would love someone to relax with after her walks and is the definition of Netflix and Chill. As a bonus, Aylin is fully house trained! If you are interested in adopting Aylin, please apply at pawpatroldayton.com. Her adoption fee is 285 dollars which includes being microchipped, heartworm testing, up to date vaccinations, and spay. All of our animals are vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered before being adopted.
