Story
Hi, I’m Nancy, a 13-week-old Newfoundland/Shepherd mix, and I’m on the hunt for my forever family! At 22 pounds, I’m still a growing pup with lots of love to share. I’m a sweet, happy-go-lucky puppy who loves exploring, playing, and making friends. I came to the rescue with all my siblings, and now we’re all hoping to find our own perfect homes where we can grow up loved and cared for. As a typical puppy, I’m curious about everything and always ready for fun! I’d love a family who can help me learn the ropes, teach me new things, and give me all the love and attention I need to thrive. Together, we can make so many wonderful memories and have a lifetime of adventures. Will you be the one to give me my happily-ever-after? Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
I’m Nina, a 3-month-old Newfoundland/Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and a playful puppy spirit! At 23 pounds, I’m growing fast and ready to find my forever family. I’m sweet as can be and love making new friends, whether they’re human or doggy. Life is still a big adventure for me, and I’m excited to explore it with a family who will guide me along the way. Like any puppy, I’m learning the ropes of being the best dog I can be. I still need some practice walking on a leash, but I’m eager to learn and ready to make you proud. I came to the rescue with my siblings, who are also looking for homes, so I’m used to being part of a pack. If you have other dogs, I’d fit right in! I’m looking for a family who will love me, teach me, and enjoy all the fun and cuddles I have to offer. Adoption Application: https://www.cognitoforms.com/New2URescues/AdoptionApplication ********If dog/pup is showing as available it is available. Please do not email asking if it is. Submit application to meet dog if interested - yes an application is required******** Meet Cosmo! This handsome brown Newfoundland started his life on a chain in a back-yard without any interaction with other dogs or people. Thankfully, he was surrendered and can finally learn how to be a dog. Cosmo is very eager to please his people, but he is still quite scared of strangers. His foster mom notes that with encouragement, strong leadership and praise he warms up quickly... and treats always help! Cosmo has already learned to walk nicely on his leash, and even responds to commands. For example, if you stop during the walk Cosmo will look to you for guidance on how to proceed. Since he began his life living on a chain outdoors, he is still working on potty training. His ideal forever home would be a large yard to run and play in, possibly with an older female dog who can help guide him to continuing to become a confident and wonderful dog. WITHOUT EXCEPTION, he must be in a home with a fully-fenced in yard without small animals or small children. Cosmo does not yet realize his size, so an owner with knowledge of large-breed dogs, patience, and lots of love to give will be best for him. Cosmo was recently neutered, and is microchipped and fully updated on his vaccines. If you think you're a match for this beautiful boy- don't wait! Apply today! If you would like to meet this amazing dog, an application must be filled out: https://www.cognitoforms.com/New2URescues/AdoptionApplication We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally we require physically fenced yard for dog/pup to play in safely. Exceptions are sometimes made to this requirement but is up to the foster and more often done for the small breed dogs. All our dogs have been treated with de-wormer; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 months or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchipped; and examined by veterinarian plus given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed at time of adoption. Dogs will be spayed/neutered thru us prior to finalizing any adoption. We provide information on dogs age and breed based on what we are told by person surrendering dog or vet's best guess. While we try our best we cannot guarantee that this information is 100% accurate and can often be best guess in case of our lovable mutts. You can learn more about our rescue and process at www.new2urescue.org or find us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/New2Urescue. You must be 25 yrs of age or older to adopt through us. We are in the Rochester NY area and adopt dogs out to area residents. We are registered in NY State with the Dept of Agriculture RR #033 and a registered 501c3 Non-Profit.
