Story
Hazel is a gorgeous chocolate & white Landseer Newfoundland who was surrendered into rescue by her previous owner. She's learning the comforts of indoor home life and is seeking a patient human who can help her maintain her beautiful coat, ensuring it doesn’t become matted again. This gentle giant is working on gaining some weight and is slowly adjusting to stairs, though she’s not a fan. Quick movements and heavy activity can sometimes startle her, but she enjoys car rides, especially with a little encouragement. Currently, Hazel is thriving in a foster home with a large dog, three medium-sized dogs, and a cat, showing no interest in the feline. She would do well in a calm & relaxing environment where she can loaf around and have lazy afternoon naps. Hazel is ready to find her forever family who will cherish her and provide the love she deserves. Requirements to adopt Hazel: *Verifiable excellent veterinary reference, preferance will be given to those with Newfoundland or giant breed experience *Home ownership with secure fenced yard Hazel is a female chocolate and white Landseer Newfoundland, born approximately 9-20-19. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested heartworm negative and started on heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $650 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. If interested in adopting one of our available dogs or puppies, you must first complete an online adoption application at https://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt/ You will be contacted by our adoption coordinator via email after your application has been reviewed & approved to schedule an appointment.
