Location: Eden Prairie, MN Bernie is a fluffy, snuggly pup. His favorite place to be is near a person, snuggling on the couch, laying at your feet or being scratched on the top of the head. Bernie’s favorite toy is anything soft that squeaks. He wanders around the house with a toy in his mouth, waiting to be adored! Bernie is nearly fully potty-trained, but he doesn’t ask to go out yet. Bernie sleeps all night in a crate, with just a few minutes of complaint. He also spends the workday in the crate, if needed, although he wouldn’t complain about being adopted by someone who needs company while working from home! Loyalty is Bernie’s strength. He quickly adopts new people, melting hearts with his soft, brown eyes. He does currently ask for attention by jumping and nipping, so we are working on that. Bernie is a bit slower to warm up to other dogs (because he wants to be near the people and soak up their attention.) It took him a week and a half to adjust to our 18 mo. old German Shepherd and now they run around and wrestle. But, Bernie is still the first one to come back in. Because Bernie is so people-oriented, he’d do great in a house as the only dog, or with a dog who gives him time to warm up. The warm-up period does involve jealousy about who gets the human’s attention, so keep that in mind for the first few weeks. This big furball loves all people and is fine sharing toys and objects with animals and people. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
