Story
Meet Koda!! We got Koda from the shelter 3 years ago and he has been the most amazing dog. He is a gentle giant! He has bursts of energy (especially when you walk in the door after being gone) but overall is not a high energy dog. We completed an 1-year, intensive training program with him, so he's very obedient! He knows sit, down, stay, come, heel, and is off leash trained. We adore this dog! He has been our whole world, the kicker? He is protective and at times reactive; especially around children and new men. It takes him a while to warm up to new people, but once you’re in his inner circle, he will love and protect you with everything he's got! He does have a bite history, he has bitten two men (upon meeting them), each time was a reactive bite to them reaching down and then he ran away/hid. Neither required sutures. But we just cannot risk it with our newborn. We think he would do best in a home with no children, active parents, and no other large male dogs.

Story
Lilly is a beautiful 4 year old girl. She came to us 6 months ago from another home. We are struggling to keep up with her energy and feel she would do better in a home without kids. She is a bigger girl, and sometimes the paws and body size can be too much for smaller humans. She loves to go on walks and car rides! She likes to travel. She knows some basic commands and is willing to learn more. Lilly does not love toys, but enjoys an easy level puzzle. She LOvES pets! She can’t get enough love. Lilly would do great in a home where someone is with her- another dog or human. She would also do well in a more active household where she can be taken on adventures often.

Story
I got Donny from his old owner by Facebook. I took him in to find a new home for him because his old owner couldn’t keep him anymore due to his guarding behavior. He’s a wonderful dog in so many ways, he’s loyal, affectionate, and a true gentle giant most of the time, but he has developed resource guarding behaviors and unfortunately bit his old owner during one of those incidents. Because of this, he must go to an adult-only home with no children or dogs and ideally someone who has experience with Newfoundlands or large breeds. He needs an owner who understands the breeds temperament and is willing and able to work with him through training and structure. He doesn’t do well by himself alone for multiple hours of the day and tends to get into food bags and boxes when left alone. This is why I believe he gained guarding tendencies with things he’s not supposed to have. He loves to go on walks and does well on a slip lead.
