Meet Delilah!A sweet 90lb, 9-year-old, Newfoundland with the softest eyes, the sweetest heart, and a story that will melt anyone who meets her. She was found in a snowbank on the side of the road, unable to stand on her own, cold, exhausted, and in very rough condition. But even then, her gentle spirit shone through. We brought her to the shelter, warmed her up, cleaned her, and gave her the soft, cozy place she had clearly been longing for.At her age, Delilah is a calm, tender soul who wants nothing more than a warm bed, a quiet home, and someone who will love her through the rest of her golden years. She does have arthritis and will continue to need regular pain management, and because her joints can be stiff, she sometimes needs a little help getting up. We are searching for someone special—an adopter or even a foster— who is mostly home and able to provide steady companionship throughout the day. Delilah doesn’t mind other dogs, but she would thrive best in a household without active or high-energy pups. A home with other senior or mellow dogs would be the perfect match for her peaceful nature.We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. Story
Libby is a sweet girl that we recently bought from a breeder. She is 1 year old, spayed, and vaccinated. Libby is nervous at meeting new people, and may take a day or two to come out of her shell (although bribing her with treats seems to speed things along!) She loves to run outside and play, she loves having her head pet, and she loves pigs ears to chew on! We realized that our bird and Libby do not get along. Libby is very curious about our bird, and we are worried about the bird's safety. We have decided that our lifestyle is not what she needs, and she deserves to be cherished by a family she can thrive in! We would describe Libby as gentle, intelligent, sweet, nervous (at first), and energetic. Give her a day or two to adjust, and she will come out of her shell! She is hypoallergenic due to the poodle genes; but has a short coat that resembles the newfoundland genes. She does not shed, and loves to be brushed!

Roxie is good with older kids but prefers to be the only animal in the home. She is fully house-trained and signals when she needs to go out with a bark. Roxie is a smart girl who knows several commands, including "sit," "shake," "speak," and "down." While she was previously crated when her owners were away, Roxie is loose in the home overnight.
