Story
Hi there! I’m Moose! I was homeless for a very long time, but was adopted about a year ago. I thought this was it, that I'd found my forever home and I was so, so happy! Unfortunately, the person who said she would love me forever and ever decided to move and now I'm homeless again. I have a proposition for you, though--I promise to be your best friend forever and remain loyal and true to you if you'll make me your "for real" forever boy. I've gotten a little older (I'm nine very handsome years old now, to be precise) and I'm still a big boy. But please don’t let my size intimidate you. It just means my heart is bigger! The truth is, I am a very well-behaved boy who is just really looking forward to being part of a family. I sure hope my family sees this and wants to meet me. I’m already neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, and I can have my bags packed to go home with you in no time! I may be a big boy, but I travel light! But the best thing I can offer is that I come with a lifetime of unconditional love. Everyone needs that, right? I am also a very treat-motivated guy. What can I say, I love my food! Being treat-motivated will actually help me learn new things. I already know the commands, “sit,” and “down,” but I would love to learn more. Would you like to help me learn new things? No one knows for certain my past, from before I came to The Pet Connection, because I haven’t shared it all with them, and I don’t really like to dwell on it. But I will tell you that I can be a bit scared of strangers and a bit selective about my doggy friends. Let’s see, what else . . . oh yeah, I also love to play with toys—especially the ones that squeak! Squeaky toys are THE BEST! I am house-trained and crate-trained, too. Oh, AND I like to sit on the riding lawn mower. That’s normal, right? Don’t most dogs like to sit on riding lawn mowers? But it’s really ok if you don’t have a riding lawn mower; I can be flexible about that. So, are you looking for a well-behaved boy with a big heart? If so, will you please come meet me? To make a pet connection, call/text The Pet Connection at (913) 671-7387. I'm staying with them in Beloit, Kansas, but I would totally be on board with hitching a ride to my new home.

Story
This handsome fellow is Max. He's a big boy, 100 pounds, and only a year old. His foster mom thinks he's a Great Dane/Labrador mix. He's a big, happy puppy, so he has plenty of energy and a short attention span. Max is also very sweet and lovable. Max loves kids but gets so darned excited that he knocks the little ones over, which they understandably don't enjoy. He's done fine with kids 10 years old and up, though. He's a rough-and-tumble player, so we think cats and small dogs would not appreciate living with Max. Medium and large dogs who like to play? Yes, please! Max gets along great with the shepherd/husky and Great Pyrenees in his foster home. Max likes to eat things. When he was found by his foster in a ditch, Max weighed only 42 pounds and was near death with SIX socks in his stomach. It took months to nurse him back to health and he barely made it. He's not messing around with his goal to consume everything he can get his mouth on, so to keep Max safe, he wears a basket muzzle when not supervised. He doesn't mind it one bit! Max has been neutered and is current on his vaccines and heartworm prevention. He's also kennel- and house-trained. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 if you're interested in giving this fabulous boy a forever home. He's in the KC metro.
