I was found roaming a business park, but kind humans took me in and gave me a chance at a wonderful life. I’m up to date on vaccines, flea/tick, and heartworm meds. I’m energetic, playful, athletic, and super sweet. No such thing as strangers to me—everyone’s just a friend waiting to be made! I love hanging out with people, and I’m really good around other dogs too. I’m potty trained (never once messed in the house!) and I really like chew toys, fetch, chase, and tug-of-war. Play time, squeaky toys, and spending time with my friends are the spices of life to me. I come when called and I’ve learned how to sit and stay for treats. I’m an explorer who loves going for walks, playing in the dog park, and going for car rides.

Why Gerty Needs a Different Environment As much as we love Gerty, we’ve come to realize that our home isn’t the best fit for her unique personality and needs. Gerty is a sweet and loyal dog, but she thrives in a quieter environment with less activity and fewer people coming and going. Our home, with young children and frequent family visitors, creates a level of excitement and unpredictability that seems to make her anxious. While she adores her immediate family, Gerty can be wary of strangers and isn’t always comfortable around young kids. she feels overwhelmed or unsure, which makes it challenging to give her the stress-free environment she deserves. We want her to be in a home where she feels fully secure and understood. We truly believe Gerty would thrive with an older couple or a family with older children who can respect her boundaries and offer her a more laid-back, structured environment. She has so much love.

Athena is an aproximate 2 years old. And was rescued from a shelter at just 6 weeks old. She is amazing with children as she was raised with a 6m baby and is still super nice and playful with our three year old. Unfortunatly my daughter has special needs that takes a lot of special care as well as an allergy she has developed from Athena’s fur. Athena does get super excited around new people as she’s not been around a lot of new people BUT she has always been super loving. A kennel is available with adoption if interested. We love her so much and sad she has to be rehomed, but I want her to have a loving home!

Story
Hazel is a rescue, found abandoned under a house. She grew up with us as a puppy and will be 2 years old on December 13th. She quickly learned to use the doggy door and patrols the yard regularly. She LOVES BIG and adores attention - her tail wags like crazy if you leave her for just a few minutes and she'll flop onto the ground for belly rubs. Unfortunately, she's a hunter and has killed multiple possums and cats in our yard. She has also attacked our elderly pug and we cannot keep her for this reason. We would love to see her go to a farm or large yard where she is the only dog. We know that she could make someone very happy, and that she is not living her best life here where we are always nervous of her going near our pug. We call her Hazelnut because she is beautiful and bonkers. She is very silly and affectionate, still trainable and looking for a master that can handle her issues and appreciate her love.

Brazos He is about 10months old. He is crate trained and asks to go outside when not in his crate. He is loving and playful. Gets along well with other dogs and kids. We have a cat but they have not been together so not sure if he would be good around cats. I recently broken my back and it’s not safe for me to be around a puppy.
