Story
Meet Shrek (aka Mozart)! This 4-6-month-old mixed-breed pup is full of love and cuddles. He gets along well with his foster siblings and is respectful when corrected by the bigger dog in the house. Though he was initially curious about the cats, he’s quickly learning to respect them and now mostly ignores them. Shrek does well in his crate, often going in on his own. While he may whine for about 10 minutes when crated, he settles down and sleeps through the night. If he needs to go potty during the night, he’ll let you know. His potty training is progressing well—he’ll go to the back door and whine when he needs to go out, though he’s still had a few accidents. Shrek loves to swim and enjoys walks, though he’s still working on leash training. He’s a bit timid at first but warms up quickly. He does have a habit of jumping, but we’re working on that. Though he’s doing well in his foster home, it’s unclear how he’d be with small children. This sweet boy is looking for a loving home where he can continue to learn and grow! http://www.coldnosewarmheart.org/dog-application.html @cnwhnj @coldnosewarmheartnj

Story
I love my dog with all of my heart. He just is not happy in the conditions we are in right now. My job requires me to work 12 hour night shifts and I am not home for long periods of time. I also have other dogs as well as cats, he can be territorial around other male dogs and will growl but for the most part is okay. He does not do well with cats, he has accidentally killed one of our cats and maimed another by the mistake of a pet sitter while we were on vacation. I want the best for my dog, he needs someone who will be home with him often and can cater to his high energy/has a good yard for him to run in. He is such a good dog, he loves attention and will be right at your feet ready for whatever adventure you are. He should be in a home without cats/chickens small animals as he loves to chase and snap our chickens and doesn’t do well with our cats. He loves going for hikes, he howls with fire truck sirens, he loves to run around in the yard and loves being outdoors.
