Story
My boy is a very good boy. He was a pandemic puppy & I messed up and didn't socialize him enough. He had a few bad experiences & now is constantly anxious and untrusting of the world. We have moved a lot, and he has not had consistency. He needs someone with experience & can help fund fear aggression therapy. Because of his reactions, I have also taken him out less and less; he is not used to people other than a select few. I am sad to let him go, but he needs someone who can provide the stimulation he needs & get him the help he needs. He can sit, lay, paw, kiss, leave it, spin, get up, and get off. He is potty trained and will kiss you intensely to communicate he needs to go. He absolutely loves to run and must be with someone who is active. He craves a lot of stimulation and needs new scenery or interaction to fight boredom and depression. He loves to chase, be chased, play keep away, and tug-a-war. Very food motivated, great at non-verbal communication, and will love to be near you

Story
Fiona is likely 4 y/o and is mixed breed. She looks like a mini pitbull mix with a smaller stature. She is only 20lb right now and won't be more than 30lb when she has a healthy weight. She was found chained up outside and emaciated a few weeks ago in rural NC. It is unclear what her background it, but she has clearly had a neglected life. Despite this, she is such an angel. We adopted her from a rescue recently but learned that her prey drive is too high to be with cats, and we do not feel safe keeping her with our cats. She is very comfortable with dogs and also would be better suited for a home with another dog to support her in comfort and building confidence. Further, we just had a tragic loss in the family yesterday and are not able to give her to experienced support she needs right now. She is anxious but loving and needs patience and lots of care. We wish we could keep her!

Story
Charlie LOVES running around and chasing balls in the backyard. He hops with delight when he finds the stick he was looking for. He is a joyful, loyal companion. Charlie needs: a dog-free home; a large, fenced yard; an experienced dog owner or one that is able to put time and resources into regular, positive-reinforcement training to improve his anxiety and reactivity; outside play time at least 1 hr/day Charlie is: on anxiety meds; great work-from-home companion; too scared to go on walks right now, but with training he might enjoy that one day; has lived well with a cat. Bite history: We recently moved into a house with another anxious pup and a resource guarding incident led to Charlie biting the other dog. For this reason Charlie should not live with another dog - or go to dog parks, etc. - until he has significant improvements in his anxiety and behavior, and can be closely monitored. Kids: Charlie has interacted with but not lived with kids, reach out for more info.

Story
I am Jester! My DNA tests says I am 30% German Shepherd 15% Chow 10% Lab but my owner says I am the perfect mix of a cuddle dog and guard dog! I would enjoy a quiet life with a low key routine, otherwise I can get anxious. I would prefer a home with no kids, or older kids, I do like kids as long as they do not rough house with me. I have undergone several sessions of dog training and my trainer says I pick things up very easily! I originally was found at a shelter until my awesome owner picked me up from a shelter at 7 months old. I really thrived until my environment got too loud. I will miss them dearly and would like the opportunity to see them if my new owner lives nearby!

Story
Ivy is a smart, affectionate, and well-trained dog who’s wonderful with our family, including three young kids, and other dogs. She’s housebroken, loose-leash trained, crate-trained,eCollar trained and eager to please. Despite her many great qualities, Ivy’s protective nature has led to challenges in our current environment. She’s territorial with visitors, and her only behavioral issues are at our home and in our yard. While she’s loving and safe with us, her unpredictable reactions to others have resulted in two bite quarantines, and a few other close calls when she's "protecting" us. We’ve worked diligently to train and socialize Ivy with positive reinforcement, but her environment and protective instincts seem to amplify her challenges. Ivy needs a structured home with experienced owners who can manage her behavior and provide her with the calm, controlled setting she thrives in. She has so much love to give and deserves a chance to succeed in the right home.

Story
Duke's owner passed away leaving him in my care. Unfortunately I am not in a position to keep him long-term for a number of reasons. He is an older dog but still has a lot of energy for walks and hikes. He does not do well with other pets so would be best in a home by himself. Probably his best option would be with an older adult or retirees, but also someone that is looking for a good walking companion. He is not a cuddler but likes to be near his humans. He's a good boy who deserves a chance.
