Story
BK is a 9 month old pit and lab mix puppy. I adopted her from St. Huberts when she was 4 months old. BK is a very active and social pup. She loves greeting humans and dogs on her walks, beach visits, and at local pet friendly businesses in Asbury Park. Her owner recently experienced a career change which is both placing financial and time constraints on her ability to provide adequate training and activity time. BK would do be best in a home that has a fenced yard that is accessible to burn off her young puppy energy. BK is well socialized and does well when she is at day care playing with other dogs, so may do well in a home with other dogs. She knows sit, down, wait, leave it, drop it, and cues to go her crate and bed, but is still working on her potty training skills (impeded by her owner being away at work). In this adoption process, her owner is hoping she can find a loving home more suited for active lifestyle.

Story
Poppy was adopted as a puppy in Denver during the pandemic before we had children. She came from New Mexico, and I immediately fell in love with her. Poppy is a 5 year old cattle dog mix, about 35-40 lbs. She has lived and gotten along with our other dog, a Golden Retriever. She loves to lay on the couch with you, loves pets, and relaxes for most of the day. Poppy needs to be rehomed because we have a 4 and 1.5 year old, and she does not like living with small children. She doesn’t want them to pet her, and just wants them To leave her alone. She will do fine in a home with another dog, or by herself. Shes a sweet girl, but has some challenges on leash when passing other dogs. If you’d like to learn about Poppy, please reach out. We hope to find her a great home that is a better fit for her.

Story
Mercury will be 2 in February, unknown mixed breed. My MIL got him from someone, probably before he was ready. She fell ill shortly after, and recently passed. He's had his second distemper & yearly rabies shots 11/8 and is neutered 11/10. We 2 large male dogs, so the addition has been stressful. Before coming to us, he lived with his 9 yr old brother; a golden shepard mix and two cats( male & female). In an all female household. They were left alone daily while the household worked, for roughly 8 hrs. Although not trained, he is housebroken. He understands no and sit, working on stay. Mercury is affectionate and does well one on one. He is still young so he is active. He is not leashed trained, but a work in progres and can be food driven. Since being with us this week he and been aggressive towards his brother; growling and posturing, but not at all with our boys. Breaks our heart, but he needs a loving patient home.

Story
We adopted Pop (nickname) a month before we learned we were having twins. We decided to keep him believing that he would be a great big brother to our two forthcoming sons. Unfortunately, three years later, one of our sons has developed asthma and has a serious reaction to his dander, despite us doing our best with a Dyson schedule. Additionally, Mom has recently been diagnosed with early stage cancer and we need to redirect our energy and resources towards this issue. We came to the decision to re-home Pop reluctantly and quite sadly. Pop is an incredible dog, he is patient, funny, great with our kids and great with all other dogs - of all sizes. He has a serious disdain for cats. He walks well, is completely house trained, knows all basics (sit, paw, down, go to bed) and gets loads of compliments for his looks. We are sad to lose him but we know we cannot give him the life that he deserves. Please help us find a new home for Pop.

Story
Meet this sweet 2-3 year-old, 65lbs pup who’s ready to find his forever home! He’s super friendly with other dogs and loves getting attention—whether it’s pats or playtime, he’s all in. While cats may run from him, he’s not the type to chase, so he’ll happily share space without causing any fuss. This gentle soul is great with people, especially kids, and loves a good chew on his toys or bones. He’s not a fan of loud noises but is always excited for walks and outdoor playtime. He’s a social pup who doesn’t enjoy being alone, so he’s looking for a loving family to share his heart with!

Story
🩷 Rescue Story Louis was rescued from the euthanasia list at "Jeongeup Shelter" in South Korea. After receiving proper medical care, including completion of heartworm treatment, he was moved into a foster home where he has been able to relax, feel safe, and show his gentle, affectionate nature. 🌿 Temperament & Behavior Louis is a sensitive and sweet dog who prefers calm environments. He does not enjoy overly energetic dogs, regardless of size. He may do well with another low-energy dog who shows little interest in him, but he is also well-suited to being the only dog in the home. With people, sudden movements—such as hands raised quickly or abrupt approaches—can be frightening for him, and this is currently being worked on through training. However, when his name is called or someone sits calmly and invites him over, Louis approaches on his own, happily cuddles up, and showers them with affection. He has no history of biting or barking at people and genuinely likes human company. His compatibility with cats has not yet been tested. 🚶 Walking & Daily Life Louis truly loves going on walks. He may start out slightly excited at the beginning, but as the walk continues, he settles down and walks nicely while matching his handler’s pace. He handles stairs well and, while traffic noises can make him a bit nervous, he does not panic or try to flee. He enjoys sniffing during walks and does not scavenge or pick up food from the ground. His shedding level is moderate, about 5 out of 10. He has no food allergies and eats well without being picky. 🏡 Habits & Training Louis uses indoor pee pads reliably (100%) and also goes potty outdoors about 85% of the time. He accepts baths and brushing calmly without resistance. He does not have separation anxiety and is comfortable staying alone. He is generally quiet and does not bark, though he may softly whine for a short moment when he is extremely excited or waiting for meals. He rides well in the car and does not appear to experience motion sickness. 💛 Likes & Personality Louis is not particularly interested in toys. Rather than high-energy play, he prefers resting quietly on his own or staying close to his person. He finds comfort in human presence and enjoys peaceful companionship. He is currently living in a foster home.
