Story
Koda is a 7 year old male. He is neutered and was adopted from Sterling Animal Shelter. Koda gets along with other people but it does take him a few minutes to be able to feel comfortable. He does have anxiety but has improved a lot since adopted. Koda is very silly and always has an appetite. He’s very adventurous and loves exercise. He would be a great hike buddy for someone. Koda is a good listener and would walk without a leash but would benefit from some leash training, while on a leash. He loves looking out the window. Up to date with vaccines. Koda would be best for families with older children. Not sure how Koda is around cats; he’s never had to be around a pet cat. He’s currently with another dog who’s much smaller/ senior dog. Koda tries to initiate play but the dog is much older and isn’t interested.

Story
Millie is just shy of 2 years old. She's generally a good dog, but does have some aggressive tendencies from time to time. She has been aggressive mostly with my husband and she has nipped him a few times. Since then, he has been very mean her and I can't stand to watch it anymore. She is very loyal to me. She sleeps in my office while I work, she runs with me (we've done up to 10 miles together!), she loves walks in the woods and playing in the water (though not really a swimmer), hiking, and playing with other dogs. She does great off-leash and is getting better on the leash, but she does still pull if something catches her interest. I think she'd be better in an adult-only home or older kids, due to her occasional behavior, but we have young kids and she's never done anything physically mean to them. She just needs someone with patience and compassion and understands dogs misbehave sometimes, especially when they are afraid/anxious. I want someone to love her as much as I do.

Story
Stanley has been here since he was a pup. He grew up fearful of new things. Despite being fearful of new situations, he loves new people! He tries to befriend everyone he meets. We are in the process of leash training him! He likes other dogs and loves roughhousing and running with them! Stanley is medium to high energy and would make a great hiking partner! He’s great off leash once he knows you completely. Stanley needs someone who will be patient with him as he faces his fears… he is sure to bring lots of love and happiness to your life!

Story
Sadie Mae was a rescue five years ago. Our life circumstances and situation has changed, and it has been difficult for her. She no longer gets along with our other two dogs, and everyone’s quality of life has diminished as a result. Sadie is 5 years old. She is a mixed breed pup, but mostly Chihuahua and Australian Cattle Dog. She is spayed and up to date on all vaccines. Sadie has some allergies, which require a daily medication and a very minor special preparation of her food (her kibbles need to be kept on the freezer). She has additional as-needed skin sprays as well for flare ups. We would love for Sadie to be adopted by someone who owns their home, either a single woman or a family. No apartments and no single men - she’s very vocal and doesn’t warm up to men quickly. Sadie is overall good with kids, but can get overwhelmed easily. Sadie thinks she’s the size of standard Chihuahua. She’ll sit on your lap and lick you to death! She’ll want to sleep in your bed to be close.

Story
We got Ollie almost 4 years ago from a rescue when he was a puppy. He is turning 4 this July. Ollie is a VERY sweet boy, but he is also reactive. He loves his family, but not many others; he has nipped at visitors in the past. He tolerates other dogs when he's boarded, but we don't know how he'd be with other dogs in the house. He lives with 2 cats and is fine with them. If you are a social person who has people coming in and out of our house, this isn't the dog for you. He is crate trained and finds that space to be comfortable. He needs a family that has a yard he can play in and will take him for walks and hikes. He loves snuggling on the couch at the end of the day. He's a good companion for someone strong enough to handle his size who might not be the most social person. He will be loyal and loving to his immediate family.
