Story
George is nearly 4 years old, neutered, house broken, microchipped, and kennel trained. We adopted him as a 4 month old puppy from a farm in Georgia in May of 2021 and have had him since. We also did all the pet training levels at Pet Smart in 2021. He's up to-date on all vaccines and is a healthy 50lb mixed breed. He's done doggy daycare and overnight boarding and does well. However, he should not be around dogs under 30lbs as he does not do well with them (he's been attacked by small dogs in the past). He would also do better in a home without small children but he has done well with children over the age of 5. We are currently living near Manhattan, KS approximately 2 hours from Kansas City. Included is all of George's items (kennel, food/water bowls, toys, etc) and his vet records.

We completed all the pet training levels at Pet Smart in 2021 so he knows several tricks and obeys well (most of the time). He's up to date on all vaccines and is a healthy 50lb mixed breed who loves to cuddle. He does well in doggy daycare and overnight boarding. However, he should not be around dogs under 30lbs as he has negative reactions (he's been attacked by small dogs in the past) but he does great with dogs his size and larger once he gets used to them. He would do better in a home without small children but he has done well with children over the age of 5. We are currently living near Manhattan, KS approximately 2 hours from Kansas City. Included is all of George's items (kennel, food/water bowls, toys, food/treats, etc.) and his vet records.

Story
Harley can be shy at first but when she eventually warms up she’s sweet and loving. She also has quite a bit of energy sometimes and with little ones and scheduling I don’t always have the time to walk her. She loves outside and would really thrive on some land, but not a must. I acquired her when she was a puppy because a friend at the time couldn’t take her. Harley is 3 years old now. She has gotten along with other dogs and hasn’t seemed to mind kids. It really breaks my heart to rehome her but I just don’t have the needed time for her to continue to thrive. With that said, I’m not looking to make money off of her but most definitely want to make sure she goes to a loving and caring home.

Story
Shadow is the name. Pleased to meet you! I'm working on this whole civilized world thing. I roamed the countryside for around 6 months before some kind people managed to catch me. I knew all that free food had to be a trap! Turns out, getting caught hasn't been all bad. I live in a house now with 2 meals every day! Did you know that there were these things called belly rubs? I like to get them while lounging in my foster human's lap. I even like sitting in a recliner when I'm the only one in it. I'm getting pretty good at making new friends, but I need it to go a little slower with other male dogs. I learned house training fast - my new dog friends really helped with learning the housedog lifestyle. I still need to work on not being so nervous when a leash comes out. Oh, and I should probably tell that I'm a pretty high-energy kind of guy. I'm sure I'd do best in a furever home that has another dog and a fenced yard. No cats though, please! Well, that's enough about me for now. Maybe someday we can meet! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our application here: http://www.rchsks.org/our-animals/adopt-a-pet/adopting-a-dog. By filling out the application you are not committing yourself to adopting; it's a screening process that must be completed before you meet the dog. Please do this BEFORE calling. Our voicemail is only checked periodically and you can reach us much faster via dog-coordinators@rchsks.org. Thank you!

Story
Coco is a very energetic 7 year old cattle dog mix. We got him from a shelter when he was three and have been trying to work with him ever since. He is very reactive to sounds (knocking on the door, door bell, car door shutting) and other animals. He does not walk well on a leash. He pulls and will react to squirrels and other dogs. We do not walk him with our other dog because he has sometimes redirected on her when he gets overwhelmed by another animal’s presence. He will not allow us to clip his nails or allow a vet to check his teeth. He must be held down and muzzled in order to receive shots. That being said, he is fairly food motivated and we believe he is trainable. He is smart and loves to run, swim, and play. He also loves snuggles. He needs owners who have the time and dedication to exercise and train him consistently. This has been hard for us as we have expanded our family. We have been told he might make a good herding dog. While he is high energy, he also enjoys lounging.
