Story
I adopted Scrappy from the Spalding County Animal Shelter. He went by Vinnie at the shelter. He has a zest for life. He loves chewing bones and playing with toys and playing with people. I would not recommend he be in a home with young children since he is very unaware of how strong he is. He is somewhat house trained and crate trained although he would prefer to be outside. He is a young dog probably around 1 and needs a family who is very active and is willing to train him. He knows how to sit and is working on walking on a leash. He has several patches of missing fur on his back possibly from a barbed wire fence accident. The shelter wasn't sure. He will need suntan lotion during the summer months especially.

Story
Buddy is a happy boy who loves to play and fetch. He is adept playing and interacting with all ages and abilities, loves kids, other dogs, and really tries hard to be a lap dog at 55 pounds. Buddy follows simple commands (sit, lay down, shake, wait for treat) and knows the command to stay out of the kitchen during meal prep times. He loves to play with other dogs, socializes well at the dog park, and adores walks using a Gentle Lead leash attachment. The best day for him is the day he gets a new toy. He plays hard and is not shy about napping before the next play time. Not many dogs are as adept about snoozing in a hammock. Buddy enjoys meeting new people and will share toys he is playing with so they can be thrown for him. Rain or shine, he will fetch. He loves squeaking and non-squeaking toys. He will fall asleep with his head resting on his favorite toy of the day. Buddy is an amazing dog who cannot wait to find his new forever home.

Story
Molly is an emotional support therapy dog. She is adept interacting with all ages and abilities/disabilities, recognizes when a person is stressed or upset, and provides proximity support and deep pressure to help them return to calm. Molly follows treat-prompted simple commands (sit, lay down, shake, wait for treat) and knows the specific command to stay out of the kitchen during meal prep times. She loves to do tricks for treats and show off what she knows. She works very hard to please and will sit and snuggle next to you during all your activities. Molly is the perfect supportive dog who socializes well at dog parks and adores walks using a Gentle Lead leash attachment. The best day for her is one where she can just be with her humans. She loves to run in open spaces and will alert to and chase squirrels when given the opportunity. She has experience in places that have chickens and does not mind them. Molly is a lovebug and cannot wait to find her new forever home.

Ruby is a 2 year old who who we’ve been fostering for the past 2 months. She loves to wake up with kisses, belly rubs and a game of tug of war with one of her her favorite toys, are you ready to play? She’s not shy about telling you what she wants and loves to burn off her high energy by running around a fenced yard or being chased when she has a ball in her mouth. She is house trained, well behaved in a vehicle, is great on the leash and loves to go on long walks. Never known to turn down a treat we used this to teach her the basic commands. With strong consistent guidance in a pet and kid free environment she’ll truly shine in her forever home.

Story
My name is Dolly! I am 1 of 14 pups that were recently dumped on a rural dirt road with temperatures in the twenties. —Believed to be Dachshund / Chihuahua mix —5-6 months old —Currently weighs 6 lbs —Estimated to be around 10 lbs full grown —Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped —Big cuddler —In foster with both dogs and cats Here is a recap of her time in foster so far: I would say she would still be apprehensive of new dogs, but if they are accepting of her, she would be fine. She responds appropriately when my dogs grumble at her, but we avoid feeding and treat sharing situations because she is super food motivated. She will sometimes snap at my big dogs, but they totally ignore her. Sometimes I think she is playing, other times she is resource-guarding (in my lap). Regardless, she doesn't press the issue. She loves to play outside and run with the big dogs when they play ball. She is stand-offish and will bark and growl with new people, but settles quickly. Dolly will try to chase the cats, but opts to find a toy when they stand their ground and hiss at her. I do think this is play--they are just her size. She is crated at night--she screams at first, but settles down. She does scream as soon as she hears someone up in the am and won't take no for an answer. She has not had accidents overnight for about 2 weeks. She does great pottying outside, but does not ask to go out and will slip away somewhere unseen to do her business in the house if you are not paying attention. She is a cuddler--if there is no human available, then any dog will do. She has not been exposed to children, but I think she might be apprehensive. Older kids could probably be ok.
