Story
I adopted Scrappy from the Spalding County Animal Shelter. He went by Vinnie at the shelter. He has a zest for life. He loves chewing bones and playing with toys and playing with people. I would not recommend he be in a home with young children since he is very unaware of how strong he is. He is somewhat house trained and crate trained although he would prefer to be outside. He is a young dog probably around 1 and needs a family who is very active and is willing to train him. He knows how to sit and is working on walking on a leash. He has several patches of missing fur on his back possibly from a barbed wire fence accident. The shelter wasn't sure. He will need suntan lotion during the summer months especially.

Story
Pablo is a rescue dog who had been previously abandoned. He is 3 years old, and is an outgoing and kind-spirited dog who loves to play with others. He is great around children. He has plenty of experience playing outside with his "sister", Dixie who is also in need of adoption. We would love for them to be adopted together; however, it is not mandatory as we ultimately want him to go to a loving home. If interested in adopting Pablo and Dixie as a pair, please kindly inquire. Dixie's profile is as follows: https://www.adoptapet.com/rehome/mypets/43968486

Story
Dixie is a reserved dog who is happy to see familiar, kind faces. Dixie was previously abandoned, and come to us as a rescue dog. Dixie does very well playing with other dogs, particularly her brother, Pablo, who is also in need of adoption. We would love to see them be adopted together in order to continue their sweet, fun-loving relationship. However, it is not mandatory as we ultimately want them to find loving homes. Dixie is a bit skittish, and therefore, she thrives in the presence of women. Dixie is her best self in a calm, relaxing yet fun environment. If interested in adopting Dixie and Pablo as a pair, please inquire--we would love to keep them together! Pablo's profile: https://www.adoptapet.com/rehome/mypets/43968153

Story
Ruby is a 2 year old who who we’ve been fostering for the past 2 months. She loves to wake up with kisses, belly rubs and a game of tug of war with one of her her favorite toys, are you ready to play? She’s not shy about telling you what she wants and loves to burn off her high energy by running around a fenced yard or being chased when she has a ball in her mouth. She is house trained, well behaved in a vehicle, is great on the leash and loves to go on long walks. Never known to turn down a treat we used this to teach her the basic commands. With strong consistent guidance in a pet and kid free environment she’ll truly shine in her forever home.

Story
Buddy is a happy boy who loves to play and fetch. He is adept playing and interacting with all ages and abilities, loves kids, other dogs, and really tries hard to be a lap dog at 55 pounds. Buddy follows simple commands (sit, lay down, shake, wait for treat) and knows the command to stay out of the kitchen during meal prep times. He loves to play with other dogs, socializes well at the dog park, and adores walks using a Gentle Lead leash attachment. The best day for him is the day he gets a new toy. He plays hard and is not shy about napping before the next play time. Not many dogs are as adept about snoozing in a hammock. Buddy enjoys meeting new people and will share toys he is playing with so they can be thrown for him. Rain or shine, he will fetch. He loves squeaking and non-squeaking toys. He will fall asleep with his head resting on his favorite toy of the day. Buddy is an amazing dog who cannot wait to find his new forever home.

Story
Wally (or Walnut) is around 7-8 years old, he's outgoing, full of energy (when he wants to be), loves attention, butt scratches, kids, and music. He makes a lot of funny noises, is scared of storms, the dark, and being alone a lot. Wally is a runner if he gets off leash, and a puller on the leash, it's best to have him in a harness and a gentle correction lead to make him stop. He is sensitive to correction and kind of slow to really understanding instructions. He's lived in apartments as far as I'm aware, as he was adopted when he was already grown, but he LOVES to be chased and to run, which is why I think a home with kids and it's own fenced yard is necessary for him. He's a big chewer and needs toys for that or he might resort to chewing on a blanket(speaking from experience, he has a designated one here). Wally is truly an amazing dog and we do love him but we don't have what he needs, and he looks depressed a lot of the time which is worrying. He deserves a good/happy life.

Story
River is an amazing girl, she is easy to train and easy to play with. Her only flaws are that due to a recent newborn, she gets over excited and jumps on her newborn sister and that if left in the crate for over 5 hours, she will sometimes have an accident. Other than that she knows how to sit with the snap of your finger. She understands, “go to your crate, lay down, sit, go potty”. All she wants to do is go outside with her squeaky chicken and play fetch with almost perfect recall. Unfortunately due to her over excitement and accidentally clawing our newborn daughter, she can no longer stay in the home with us without being in the crate. It breaks our hearts to do so but River needs a family that can meet those needs.
