Story
My 16 year old son Isaac found scar around march of this year, scar was about 1-2 months olds. I would not allow the pet in our apartment so Isaac took him to a friend’s. Around August scar was attacked my an older female ( who may have been his mother) when she had puppies. Scar has his shots and has been weighed in sept 2024 he was 60 lbs and 6-7mos. Scar loves to hike and get treats and to have his but scratched. I love scar but I’m too busy to give him what he deserves and my son isn’t up to the responsibility. Scar is a little piece of heaven and I want him to be with an active family with a back yard. 😢

Story
Casey is a sweet and loyal dog with forever puppy energy. She loves being outdoors and her very favorite activity is swimming. She will swim for hours. She also likes retrieving objects or trash from the ocean and bringing them ashore. She is great off leash on hiking trails and loves playing fetch at the park. She is friendly with other dogs but people are her true love. She absolutely loves people. And food or treats. She is sweet and patient with our 18-month old as the toddler explores her boundaries and pulls on her ears and tail or pats her a little too hard. She loves exercise but doesn't need it as much as when she was a puppy; if she is stuck indoors she just sleeps or rests. We got Casey on the East Coast when she was about 6 months old. We have loved having her in our family but don't have the capacity and resources to care for her as much as we did before we had a human baby.

Story
Louie is a very sweet and affectionate mixed breed 15 month old male dog who loves to snuggle. We adopted him at 10 weeks old from Hopalong Rescue. Our home is a mellow household with two adults, a nine year old girl and a 3 year old dog. While he is a very cute and kind dog, he just isn't the right fit for our family and particularly for our other dog. We feel Louie would be best suited with people who can let him roam around and play constantly outside. He has had extensive training, including puppy school, Humane Society classes, and one-on-one behaviorist specialists. He requires daily stimulation. He enjoys hikes and parks. He exhibits occasional signs of anxiety in certain situations. We want Louie to go to a loving home, one with affectionate and patient people. He occasionally can get aggressive with our other dog, which is the main reason we need to rehome him. We feel it's only fair to find him the right owner that can give him what he needs.

Story
Fancy was rescued from the pound a few years ago, however, her owner was an elderly lady who is no longer able to take care of her due to critical health issues. We are fostering Fancy while she finds her new forever home because we don’t want her going back to the pound. She’s very sweet and gets along with my little dog and my pitbull, but we are not able to keep her as we have our dogs to care for. She can be a little energetic, but with some training she’ll be great. She does not destroy shoes and doesn’t chew on furniture. She doesn’t like being alone, so someone who works from home would be the perfect match for her. She will be a great companion for kids. Her adoption fee will be donated to the animal shelter she was rescued from.

Story
Chance | Mix | 10-Years-Old | Neutered Male | Approx. 50 lbs. Chance is a sweet mix who came to Lily’s as a stray from Southern CA. Poor Chance was found matted and dirty under a bush, looking for shelter from 100+ degree heat. He was blind in both eyes, covered in dreadlocks and emaciated. During his initial medical exam at Lily’s, it was discovered that Chance had detached retinas in both eyes that were causing him extreme pain and were beyond repair. Consequently, Chance needed to have both eyes removed. He is recovering amazingly and getting engrained into the Lily’s routine – working on going through the dog door, going out on daily walkabouts in the grassy corral and getting lots of cuddles! We believe that Chance’s blindness was somewhat new when we found him. We have introduced key words to help Chance navigate his newly dark world, pointing out “walls,” “steps” and more. He has responded extremely well to these queue words and the routine at Lily’s. He alerts by barking when he has to go potty and does his business right away once he feels the grass under his feet in the corral. We are encouraged by the progress Chance has made and he will only continue to develop his senses to live a happy life with his new forever family. He will need humans that are willing to help him learn the ropes, providing lots of patience, love and encouragement.
