Story
I rescued Duncan when he was only 10 weeks old. He is now 1 year 6 months. Duncan is the perfect family dog. Duncan is great with kids and other dogs. Duncan is none aggressive and is pretty good with his basic commands and recall. He is crate trained, house trained. Duncan sleeps both in crate at night and sometimes in the bed with me. He loves to hangout with other dogs at the dog park. Unfortunately with my night shift schedule I am unable to give him the attention that he deserves. He is also a medium size dog. Duncan is now 34 pounds of love. I simply do not have the space at my home for him to run free. I just want him to be placed in a loving home. No adoption fees are necessary. I have all of his toys and crate. This is so hard for me but I feel like I am being selfish not letting be with someone that can give him the time he deserves.

Story
Mumford is a 9yo Lab / Pit mix. I’ve had him since he was 4mo old. He’s a very relaxed dog at home, still super agile, obsessed with his ball and semi well trained. He’s good on a leash and good with humans. He’s had a little (big) Great Dane sister for the past year that he gets along with super well, however he has some possessiveness issues and snapped at my girlfriends pug over some food and since we are moving in together, I’m making the sad and impossible decision to rehome him as I want him to be happy and not figure out how to manage keeping them separated or monitored 24/7. He’d be best in a home without dogs, he’s 9 but acts like he’s 5 relative to his mobility and health. He’s happy lounging all day or playing fetch for hours upon end. He loves walks and is friendly with other dogs when out in the wild, the only issues behaviorally have come with possessive characteristics (food / ball) with strange dogs. I just want him in a loving home as he’s been such a good dog to me.

Story
Casey is a sweet and loyal dog with forever puppy energy. She loves being outdoors and her very favorite activity is swimming. She will swim for hours. She also likes retrieving objects or trash from the ocean and bringing them ashore. She is great off leash on hiking trails and loves playing fetch at the park. She is friendly with other dogs but people are her true love. She absolutely loves people. And food or treats. She is sweet and patient with our 18-month old as the toddler explores her boundaries and pulls on her ears and tail or pats her a little too hard. She loves exercise but doesn't need it as much as when she was a puppy; if she is stuck indoors she just sleeps or rests. We got Casey on the East Coast when she was about 6 months old. We have loved having her in our family but don't have the capacity and resources to care for her as much as we did before we had a human baby.

Story
Chance | Mix | 10-Years-Old | Neutered Male | Approx. 50 lbs. Chance is a sweet mix who came to Lily’s as a stray from Southern CA. Poor Chance was found matted and dirty under a bush, looking for shelter from 100+ degree heat. He was blind in both eyes, covered in dreadlocks and emaciated. During his initial medical exam at Lily’s, it was discovered that Chance had detached retinas in both eyes that were causing him extreme pain and were beyond repair. Consequently, Chance needed to have both eyes removed. He is recovering amazingly and getting engrained into the Lily’s routine – working on going through the dog door, going out on daily walkabouts in the grassy corral and getting lots of cuddles! We believe that Chance’s blindness was somewhat new when we found him. We have introduced key words to help Chance navigate his newly dark world, pointing out “walls,” “steps” and more. He has responded extremely well to these queue words and the routine at Lily’s. He alerts by barking when he has to go potty and does his business right away once he feels the grass under his feet in the corral. We are encouraged by the progress Chance has made and he will only continue to develop his senses to live a happy life with his new forever family. He will need humans that are willing to help him learn the ropes, providing lots of patience, love and encouragement.

Story
Shadow is a complete sweetheart. He loves to cuddle and thinks he is a lapdog. He is a quick learner and is currently learning basic commands. He is fully potty trained and kennel trained. He is being fostered with two older dogs and a cat. He requires daily exercise and mental simulation. As his name suggests he wants to be your shadow, he is constantly at your side, wanting to be with you. I would suggest a home with older kids ( hes strong and clumsy), and if there are other dogs probably Would preferred medium to larger dogs to play with.
