Story
Hello! My name is Sidney and here’s some info about me:Breed: Munsterlander/Border Collie mixAge: 2 years oldGender: FemaleWeight: 44 lbs / 20 kgHeight: 25.6 inches / 65 cm Highlights: Intelligent, friendly, gets along well with all humans/dogs/cats, adaptable, eager to please and learn I am so happy to have caught your attention!  If you’re in search of a smart mid-sized dog who will be your forever companion; loyal in all situations from outdoor activities to cuddling up at home, then I'm your gal!  I'm being cared for in a temporary home overseas from Canada right now, and can't wait to settle in with the right person/people. When I was just two months old a kind lady found me and forever changed the course of my life. I had been living on the streets along with some older, bigger dogs.  Without my mother or litter mates, those dogs probably kept me safe from the dangers out there. My rescuer recognized I was suffering from ear infections and skin problems, and took me to a veterinarian for treatments. My ailments cleared up and I felt such relief after receiving medical care!  She took me into her home where I have been living along with some of my doggy pals. She has been so generous to host temporarily. A permanent home is the next step for me... could that be with you?? You'll see I play well with other dogs https://youtube.com/watch?v=fnx5ZTFbUJQ, follow orders, love to go for car rides, and my rescuer states I am good with kids (though no video proof yet.) I am calm, kind, playful, and eager to learn all the tricks you are willing to teach me! I'm fine staying home alone, though I thrive when I'm around humans. I'm affectionate and lap up adoration, which I return in everlasting loyalty.  I like to be active and would be best suited with a person/people who can provide stimulating outdoor adventures. Hiking, swimming, camping, running in a yard all sound like so much fun! I have always lived with other dogs https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zJAHFt1SPhY and good with cats https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=I-dPlyUpTSI and supposedly kids too. Additional videos of me: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0A5mkNr5UTM,  https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sFjNUVtEQjM, https://youtube.com/watch?v=rtEI7Zty9Gw. Energy Level: moderate I get along with:Dogs, yesCats, yesKids, unknown, await video proof Prey drive: none observed. My adopter needs to be willing to contact a trainer should these issues arise.Fears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training:Leash skills: yes. very well. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights throughToronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo.Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog.LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.  ##2150821##

Story
URGENT! Due to a new law enacted in my country, the rescuers can't retain the refuge, so dogs need homes before the end of the year. Please help. Hello! My name is QUEENIE. Here is some info about me:Breed: English SetterAge: 12 yrsGender: FemaleWeight: 60 lbs (27 kg)Height: 23-1/2 inches (60 cm)Country of Origin: Republic of GeorgiaHighlights: obedient, bit anxious, tentative, inquisitive, devoted I'm a very devoted girl and am ready for a loving home! Could that be you? Read below to see if we're a good match! My rescuers heard my cries for help one day. They found me chained to a broken doghouse, I had no food or water. It was very hot and I had no shade. I was in a desperate situation, one might say. My current owner at the time had decided to cover me in motor oil as well, under the belief that it would get rid of mange. Fortunately, my rescuers took me home with them where they helped clean the oil off of me. My eyes were red and swollen, the smell of the oil was awful and was hard on my sensitive skin and nose.My previous owner had me chained up outside for most of my life, and saw me as an outside dog year around. I was allowed to accompany them on hunting trips, but apart from that, I was sentenced to a life chained up in a yard.Although I am 12, my previous owner still used me for breeding, doing so every 6 months to sell my pups. Fortunately my rescuers got me fixed to protect my health. When they brought me home, I was stiff from being chained up all the time. I was in a new environment and isolated myself from the other dogs in the home. My rescuer says I am good with dogs, I just needed some time to recover from my previous situation, so can be a little tentative at first. All this to say, I am very much ready for a loving home! I seek companionship, I want to accompany you on your errands, walks, adventures, and cuddles. I’m looking for a safe home, I promise to be very loyal, I will wait for you to return from the store, but I can get a bit vocal when anxious. I am very obedient off leash! I just want to be with a caring and compassionate owner. Also, being an inquisitive girl, I like to watch what you are doing. Maybe you can show me some tricks. You CAN teach an old dog new tricks, btw.Given my age, I no longer have the puppy zoomies, I have a low to moderate energy level. I would do best in a home that can meet all my needs (food, water, shelter, a dog bed inside perhaps?!?). I would be happy to hang with you while you watch tv, but would also love to come for walks and errands. Energy level: moderate-lowI get along with:Dogs: YesCats: UnsureKids: Yes Prey drive: Unknown. Adopter should to be willing to seek out training assistance should such issues arise.Fears: I was mistreated by my previous owner when they were intoxicated. Intoxicated behaviour triggers my fear. I lacked food and water in my previous home and my rescuer notes that I have been guarding my food. If there are other dogs around, please feed us separately. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: house and leash manners, very well behaved off leash (once bonded.) Bonus Points!Leash skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health Notes:I am spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and in good health. My adoption fee is $600.00 plus applicable taxes. Story
Hi, my name is PRINCESS, and here is a little info about me:Breed: English Setter mixAge: 1 yearGender: FemaleWeight: 75 lbs / 34 kgHeight: 27 inches / 68 cmCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlight(s): Friendly, intelligent, eager to learn, good with dogs & kids Thank you for taking a moment to get to know me, as I certainly want to get to know you!  Don't let my regal name deter you, as a spaniel, I wouldn't shy away from some muddy times while accompanying you on hikes, swims, and romps at the dog park! I spent the first few months of my life tied up on a short leash in a derelict building. The man who kept me there would often leave me alone. One day, a neighbouring lady heard my whimpers as she was passing by and found me in my sad state. Neglected and malnourished, it was hard for me to even stand up to greet her.As a dog owner herself, she felt compelled to help me, and began bringing me food. With her kindness, she quickly earned my trust. I guess I earned a spot in her heart too, because she found the owner of the building and advocated for my release from the “doggy jail” I was being kept in.  She brought me to the dog shelter I've been living in for about 9 months (since Oct 2023). Now thriving with care, I know there's more out there for me. My rescuer named me Princess because while I make friends easily (canine and human alike), I prefer to eat my meals alone, please and thank you. This display of resource guarding likely comes from receiving infrequent meals. I had to protect what little sustenance came my way.  When I adapt to routine care and love, it's expected I'll relax and understand I won't need to worry if/when I'll be fed again.I'm an intelligent girl who is eager to learn and understand what's expected of me.  This should make training much easier. The best kind of home for me would be one that offers some adventure time. Cuddles and relaxed time at home would also be fabulous! I'm pretty adaptable, so should fit into most home environments.Additional vids: https://youtube.com/shorts/7GqlHyiMIPQ?feature=share,  https://youtube.com/shorts/tPwesbzIjE4?feature=share, https://youtu.be/51WVtzQ5ur8?si=CgeqpyUyWif4-wbr,  https://youtu.be/ENvVy4t9knQ?si=MnsBNhkHsIK-SvZH.
