Story
Bailey is here but not for long. We are all positive she is perfect! From her face, with those filp-floppy ears to her friendly, fun-loving personality, she is best-friend ready! She is social- without being too outgoing or pushy, she is playful- but not the non-stop type, she settles into relaxed easily. When she is ready to rest, you will find her on the softest blanket available- we love a girl who knows cozy. Take a look at her in action then come back to read more- https://youtu.be/iW0svi66BJQ Bailey is estimated to be 1.5 years old, which may have something to do with the balance of her playful, bouncy personality and quick return to calm. Our breed observations lead us to believe, no guarantees because its rescue, she may be a Mountain Cur/Shepard mix. She also tends to have a Boxer play style as seen in her video. Don’t let her size scare you- she is not great dane size, and weighs in at 64 lbs full-grown. Breed doesn’t matter as much as her amazing disposition, friendly nature, and best-friend potential. Bailey met loads of new people and dogs during her time with us and she continued to impress us and make us laugh. She is friendly with new people but she is not obsessive about getting to them, she waits patiently and lets people come to her. This is perfect if you like a dog that is great out in public but isn’t going to be dragging you around looking for free pets and treats. With dogs, she is friendly and polite for leash greetings. Off-leash she is quick to invite her new friend(s) to play but doesn’t pester if they don’t accept. She has great play manners, with a classic “boxer-like” play-style, using those paws in a way some would call rough and tumble. Bailey would love a home with a playful doggie-friend, ideally similar sized so she can bounce around without worrying she could hurt her new friend. At 1.5 y/o she is still learning her puppy playfulness is inside a fully-grown dogs body. We did introduce Bailey to our house cat and she was polite but very interested in playing so a cat-free home would be best. She can get a little vocal while playing but it is all in good fun. Bailey is fostered in a bustling home with 4 other dogs who she gets along with perfectly. She has not shown any reactivity with food or toys, an ideal quality for multi-pet homes. Because Bailey is in a foster home we are able to share all of those amazing qualities she is learning and showing off. First, she is fully house and crate trained and has not had one accident in her foster home! Round of applause of Bailey! Second, she is incredibly respectful of all the things around the house that are not for doggies- no chewing or counter surfing here. She also went to the pet store recently and was a perfect lady while exploring the store and during her bath time! If you ask her foster family one thing they love about her, at least one person will say- her warm eyes. They are those gorgeous, secret-keeper eyes! If you are looking for a walking partner, Bailey is prime for the role. She has great leash manners and walks with an easy pace, stays close and is patient if you need to stop and chat or tie your shoe. Plus, she is already confident and at ease when tandem walking with another dog. Can you see why we think she is perfect? Story
Finnean is a good looking boy, that is easy to see. What is a little harder to see is his heart. He is a sensitive soul that loves ease and calm, oh yes, and treats! It might even be best to say- his heart is in his stomach. He doesn’t have expensive taste though, he is as happy with MilkBones as he is with grade A jerky. Take a look at him here https://youtu.be/i3gLRxV53C0 Just like his taste in treats, simple is perfect with him. No frills, no fancy. He loves routines and shines in structure and stability. If he was a person, the military would be recruiting him. Estimated to be 3 years old and weighing 55 lbs, lapdog was never in his cards so you wont have to worry about that. He will be close by but won’t insist on affection. He loves the quiet moments of connection, letting you know he is there without being imposing, happy with little head scratches and you calling him over for the companionship. When it comes to his canine companions, Finnean welcomes them. He loves to play with moderately playful dogs and is especially skilled at navigating the dynamics of group play. He greets and welcomes new dogs with ease and a calm approach. While he’s not one to initiate play right away, once he’s comfortable, he loves a good rough and tumble round of wrestling. A home with a yard and doggy friends who match his energy level would be ideal for him. Leash walking is a mixed bag for Finnean. He’s generally easy to walk but prefers quiet walks over busy sidewalks. A calm, attentive handler will help him continue to grow his confidence in these environments as needed. Not everyones life involves busy sidewalks and this isn’t the only way for him to be stimulated and get physical exercise. Indoors, we see moments where it is clear he is experiencing something new, those are teachable moments and may come up as he settles into a home.Guiding and teaching will strengthen your bond and watching him fully find his ease will be deeply gratifying. Finnean isn’t a fan of kennels and may get anxious if left contained for too long, though he is making improvements in this as his foster gently guides him to knowing crates are comfortable and safe spaces. We never can know what a rescue dog has faced in their past but we can absolutely promise them only the moving forward. Thanks to his foster dad’s guidance, crating has become a stress-free process, especially when it’s paired with his favorite thing—treats. Finnean’s ideal home would be one that understands his needs for patience, and time to get comfortable. The quiet, simple life with a little yard would be this boys heaven. While he’s not suited for a cat-friendly household (he was a bit terrified of the cat,) he has the potential to thrive in a home where his independent, food-loving, and playful spirit can truly shine. Are you Finneans someone? We sure hope so. Apply today! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6740b688cd95d10ccf07024d Questions? Have you ever wanted a dog that will love you unconditionally no matter what? Well look no further because Courage perfect dog for you! He is the kind of guy who’ll make you smile with his silly antics, yet melt your heart with his gentle, innocent nature. He’s a sweet, sensitive pup who thrives on love and companionship. With a playful spirit and a heart full of kindness, his innocence and charm will have you falling for him in no time! It also helps that he has the cutest little face perfect for smooching all over. Watch his video and fall in love with Courage: https://youtu.be/S24VtJmVIWI?si=Ij9DAiUHsZksPwdX Courage is a pointer lab mix approximately 1 year old and weighing in at just 45 lbs, this little guy packs a lot of personality and affection. Perfectly sized for any home. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. One of my favorite things about Courage is his silly personality!! Oh my goodness will this guy have you laughing non stop. His silly side really shows when you’re inside just hanging out. One second your there minding your own business and then there’s Courage, living his best life rolling all over the couch, playfully tumbling between the pillows with pure joy. He wiggles and squirms, paws flying in the air, as is the cushions were made just for his fun, building his own little fort out of them. You can’t help but laugh as he dives into the pillows, completely caught up in his own little world of bliss. It's a moment pure unfiltered happiness, and you can see how much fun he's having as he bounces from one pillow to the next, tail wags and all. Courage extends this same amount of pure joy to toys as well. Especially the with the toys that squeak. He would be a great companion to have around if you work from home too because of how easily he entertains himself. When he's not making you laugh with his goofy antics, he's curled up beside you soaking up all of the affection you have to offer. His silly side will keep you smiling all day, but when it's time to relax, he's the ultimate cuddle buddy. Courage loves to crawl into your lap, give you gentle kisses and roll over in hopes of belly rubs. He's the perfect mix of silly and sweet. Courage is dog friendly and loves to play with other dogs. He has a gentle and easy going play style that's perfect for romping around in the yard with friends. He's always up for some fun, and never too rough -- he's all about running around, hopping, and enjoying the moment. When he's not romping around with doggy friends, you'll find him snuggling up wit his people getting all of the affection, or exploring the yard. In a home he would be best placed with a fun-loving female that has a medium energy, one who enjoys playtime but also knows when it's time to sit back and relax enjoying the evening with their people by their side. Courage would also be great as your one and only companion as well. He does not need the company of another dog to help him feel comfortable, he's a happy smiley guy all on his own. There is also no shortage of affection around with this guy either. You'll find that he has enough love to share with everyone around him. Courage is currently in a foster home with 3 kids age 4-9, a female nonplayful older dog and a senior cat and thriving. His favorite people are the kids by far! Courage's ideal home would be with a family that would like to take their new companion on walks through out the neighborhood followed by cozy evenings curled up on the couch for movie nights. He enjoys backyard play sessions whether it's a short game of his version of fetch (chase and not retrieve) or simply running around to stretch his legs. If you enjoy a laid-back lifestyle with occasional bursts of play, Courage is the perfect companion for you. We are willing to test Courage with anything you need us to in order to ensure it’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Story
Oh my heck, this sweet boy cannot be anymore perfect! Eustace aka MooMoo, is the literal definition of a family dog. I have personally had him around my 10 month old son who is in that in between stage of crawling and walking. MooMoo was completely un-phased by the falling, stumbling, throwing of toys, random movements, rolling around, baby babbles, crying, the obnoxious baby jingles, the bulky walker, and was even un-phased by my son crashing his walker into the walls. There was even a moment when my son coughed and MooMoo came to check on him and gave him sweet kisses as if he was trying to comfort him. MooMoo laid on the bed with us and enjoyed the snuggles, even resting his head on my son while we were all snuggling. I honestly believe he would have taken a nap with us for my son's nap time. MooMoo has also been around kids ages 7 and 13 and he was as gentle as they come with them as well. He was gentle taking treats from them, shared his toys with them, never tried to jump on them, nor was he overly pushy for affection. He's literally perfect around kids. I love him!! If you're looking for a family dog, no need to look any further because you found one right here! Watch his video and see how amazing he is with kids: https://youtu.be/rsErjAGMsBc?si=PJgjz7VqXXWr-Yb6 MooMoo is a Pointer lab mix approximately 1 year old without the energy of a typical 1 year old dog. He is a mellow chill guy, that with play for short bursts every now and then and that's about it. He get's most excited when he's laying on a bed or a couch because he likes to roll around, nuzzling himself into the blankets or into the pillows until he finds a cozy spot. He is just such an easy dog to be around. Don't let his pictures fool you, he may look like a big dog but he's not! He is on the smaller side currently only weighing 43 lbs making him the perfect mix. Not too big and not too small. MooMoo is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. MooMoo is dog friendly and has done great around dogs his size and bigger and has even done great around dogs that are 12lbs. He's not very playful with other dogs and enjoys just hanging out in the yard enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. He will play every now and then and his play style consists of simply romping and running around with other dogs and never getting too rowdy. In a home, MooMoo would do best with another calm relaxed female dog that will be happy to lounge around the house together and one that will enjoy some play time here and there. He would also do great as your one and only dog as well because he loves people so much. He's not the kind of dog that needs the company of other dogs to make him feel comfortable or open up, he's already a natural born lover. He would honestly probably love to be the center of your attention. MooMoo would also do best in a kitty free home. MooMoo is very easy to walk on a leash and hardly ever pulls. Half the time when you're walking him, the leash it self is typically just hanging there because of how much of a relaxed walker he is. He is the perfect walking companion to take with you around the neighborhood or if you have some scenic trails you like to go to. He'll enjoy the leisurely pace and will enjoy the quality time y'all will share together. He is crate and potty trained as well and already knows some basic commands such a sit. He is treat motivated and loves jerky treats! We are willing to test MooMoo with anything you need us to in order to ensure it is a perfect match for you. We can make anything happen! The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time. https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
