Story
Meet Kio! Kio is a 1-year-old, 66-pound girl with a fun, affectionate personality and a love for getting out and exploring the world. She is easy to take in and out of her kennel and is always ready to get going. On leash, Kio pulls hard at first when she’s excited, but she settles into a much nicer pace once she gets moving. For most of the walk she does well, though she can pull strongly if she sees another dog. Sometimes she ignores them, but other times she gets excited and wants to check them out. Kio is a great passenger in the car. She hops right in and rides wonderfully, especially enjoying sticking her head out the window to take in all the sights and smells. She handles longer outings with ease and does great on longer walks, happily enjoying a relaxed, leisurely pace. Kio loves roaming around and exploring new places with her nose. When it comes to toys, she definitely prefers stuffed toys over balls. Balls don’t interest her much, but she loves playing fetch with a Lamb Chop toy and will happily trot around carrying her stuffies or bring them over to share. She tends to carry them gently rather than tearing them up. Kio enjoys treats, especially long-lasting chews like bully sticks. She’s also very people-oriented and loves attention. She does wonderfully meeting new people in public and is happy to soak up pets. She waits patiently when out and about, often sitting nicely with her tail wagging and looking up with a big, happy smile. Very affectionate and eager to connect with people, Kio is a fun and loving companion who enjoys both adventures and plenty of attention from her humans. As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. To meet your new pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
