Story
He is a very playful, energetic , loving dog that needs plenty of exercise, Children, other dogs, a fenced in back yard or someone who jogs/hikes would be great. He loves his toys and will play with them constantly but is not a toy sharer with other dogs. He is a watch dog and will alert you when anyone enters your yard but is not a biter.Thunder, fireworks and gun fire are a problem for him and he will hide in a closet or shower until it passes.A lot of training has been done ; sit, heel, stay and no along with the command "home" which causes him to run to the house. He is off lease trained and fully house trained to stay off furniture and specific rooms. He can be left alone with his toys but really likes to be with his family for companionship. I do not see him as an apartment dog. He travels well but is excitable in the car. Hotels and elevators are not a problem.

Looking for love? Have a big fenced yard? Got a mouse issue? Meet Zelda the wonder dog who will search for hours around your house and bring mice straight to your doorstep. Sadly Zelda is struggling to get along with Lucy. Historically, she has been around cats, small dogs, and a teenager and was fine. If you need a good walk or run, Zelda is a good fit to kick your butt in shape. In addition, no one will prowl your home without your knowledge. Zelda is ready to be your Valentine. $5 rehome fee to go to Young Williams shelter.

Story
Meet Ivar — Your Chunky Fetch Champion 🐾 Ivar is a lovable Plott Hound–Shepherd mix with a solid build, a bigger heart, and the sweetest soul you’ll ever meet. This handsome, extra-chunky guy is a total sweetheart who lives for attention and affection. If you’re petting him, you’re doing it right—and if you stop, he’ll politely (or not so politely) ask you to continue. Ivar is a fetch master who takes his job very seriously. Toss the ball and watch him light up with joy—he’s always ready for another round. When playtime is over, he’s perfectly happy soaking up love, leaning into pets, and accepting snacks (his favorite love language). With his gentle nature, happy grin, and snack-motivated charm, Ivar is the kind of dog who makes every day better just by being there. He’s ready to be your loyal best friend, your backyard play buddy, and your professional treat taster. Adopt Ivar and bring home a chunky, fetch-loving sweetheart who will adore you endlessly. 💛🐶

Story
Rusty is a handsome fella, a typical mountain cur with an orange tint to a reddish-brown coat.  He has a white chest and is probably about 7 months old and weighs about 35 lbs.  Rusty will be fixed before being adopted but we are waiting for him to get older.  He is otherwise fully vetted.  He is very affectionate, chases balls, loves to play with anyone: kids, adults, other dogs.  He likes to sleep on and off the bed at night.  Rusty is a great family dog.  Please call Ron Stoessell at 985-630-1613 if interested in adopting.March 21, 2026, 12:24 am

Story
Sugar looks like a white 45 lb Kimmer Cur & possible Am. Bulldog mix, very shy and sweet, about 3 years old.  She was found in Wildcat Subdivision in Murphy, NC in late July and brought to nearby Lost Dogs Run, so weak from starvation, that she could hardly move.  Sugar recovered rapidly and now is a very quiet and calm dog who just likes to hang around, following her foster mom.  She was obviously used as a breeding dog in the past. She is now  totally vetted, house trained, and heart worm negative.  However, in mid August she had three 2 minute seizures within 24 hours and was immediately put on levetiracetam (initially 3 500 mg tablet a day and now a month later 1 tablet a day) which totally stopped the seizures.  Her medicine is not expensive and her dosage is 1/3rd the normal dose and has no bad side effects.  We will soon try with no tablets to see if there are still no seizures.  Her low energy nature would make her a great pet for a retired couple.  She is just so sweet and wants to stay near home.  Each morning, she is let out to explore in the neighboring woods and is back within a half hour, eager to go back in the house.  Call Ron Stoessell (985-630-1613) or email him at ronstoessell@gmail.com if you can provide a great home for her.March 21, 2026, 12:24 am
