Story
To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see HERE Age: 3 months (as of 11/8/24) Weight: 14 lbs (as of 10/30/24) Location: RI This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Looking for a gold medal pup that will make your heart do backflips? Look no further than Simone Gymnastics! She is a 3-month-old Mountain Cur mix that will win you over with her cuteness. As you would expect with any puppy, she is playful, affectionate, outgoing, gentle, and quiet. She fills her days with many hobbies, including playing with toys, but she also enjoys a healthy dose of lap time and snuggling throughout the day. She is currently living with a loving foster and is best friends with their family dog and visiting grandchildren. She is doing well with potty training - she knows to go when you let her out and if she is let out regularly, she has very few accidents. At night she sleeps on her dog bed in her foster parent room and will stay there through the night without any accidents. She does not like being in the crate or being confined into one room. She likes to be where everyone else is! We strongly recommend that all of our puppies attend obedience training to learn commands, develop confidence, and socialize with other dogs. Think Simone would make the perfect addition to your family? Fill out an application to let her know! An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. Medical Note: A littermate of this dog is being treated/has been treated for demodectic mange, a non-contagious skin condition. As there is thought to potentially be a genetic component to predisposition to this condition, this dog has been preventatively treated though does not currently show any bald patches and/or thin fur in places. Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (e.g., transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc.). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months after adoption for adults or until 18 months of age for puppies. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange and talk with your Adoption Counselor about this condition. Please check with your vet if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org) **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor. November 16, 2024, 8:50 pm
