Story
Hi. My name is Cowboy.  I may be a cur mix but I act like a beagle too.  I am seven years old and I weigh about forty pounds.  I think the pictures make me look bigger than I am.  I was surrendered to the rescue when my family was moving away and said they couldn't take me with them.  I just don't understand that and was very confused at first.  Now, I am over them and ready to move on with my life.    I am a scaredy cat, playful and loyal to my family.  I talk a lot if someone comes around I don't know and I can sound quite fierce.  Actually I am a big chicken and will stand behind you or run to my crate, please don't tell anyone.  I love toys, lots of them.  I have always lived in a home with a fenced yard. I went to training classes and know all my basic obedience and how to walk with a harness on a leash. I like walks. I came to the rescue with two problems we have been working on, first I love food and treats.  I should weigh about fourty pounds but it's hard for me to hold that weight because I will eat anything you give me! So they are watching how much food I eat and I am trying to get more exercise, did I say I love food and treats?  Second I tested positive for a tick borne illness called Ehlrlicha so I have been treated for that.  I will always test positive, but I have no symptoms and it's not causing me any problems now.  Just saying so you know. I like other dogs and would be happy in a home with a playmate or just you.  I don't bother cats so they are fine too. I am going to match the energy level of your home, busy or chill is just fine. I am housetrained.    I have been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (including influenza) and tested negative for heartworms. My adoption fee is 150.00.  If you are interested in adopting me please go to dogsasfamily.org and fill out an adoption application for me, Cowboy.  I could protect you and be your friend if you can do the same for me.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 18, 2024, 12:09 am

Story
It's always surprising when one of our very adoptable dogs lingers in foster care. Usually through no fault of their own. That is the case with Maverick who is 1-1/2 years old, very comical and a laugh a minute! He loves attention, whether it's a loving pet or just the ability to lay with his head on your foot. He gets along well with all of the dogs, large and small, in his foster home. Maverick really likes going to Bar K (the dog park) and hanging out with all of the other dogs and people. He is not a fan of cat's and keeps his distance so shouldn't have problems sharing a home with one. Maverick has a lot of puppy left in him but he has worked hard on his manners and listens very well. He is crate trained and housebroken. Maverick is medium sized (weighing 50 lbs), is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro chipped and heart worm negative. Maverick is looking for a home where someone wants a buddy for walks, going to the park and hanging out watching tv. He will be your loyalist companion. If you would like to meet Maverick please message his foster mom at contact@tfarokc.org or complete the application in the link. You will fall in love with this sweet gu y.   https://form.jotform.com/truefriendsok/true-friends-animal-rescue-adoption     December 18, 2024, 1:28 pm
