Story
A shy dog who is always nervous around new people. With time and patience, Peppa started to open up and enjoy new experiences. She is a kind loving dog, loves kids and playing with other dogs and cats. She will make a great companion for anyone looking for a new best friend. Me and my children will miss her so much but we are welcoming a new bundle of joy into our lives and won’t be able to give Peppa the attention she deserves and is used to. :( Hopefully she can go from one great family or owner to another one. Thanks for all of your support!

Story
Marie is a real go-getter.  She loves an active life, she loves the water and would like a family who can help her get out her energy and share her zest for life.   She is a little cautious with new people but warms up quickly.  No litle kids for her because she is bigger and high energy.  Bigger kids are okay. She does need to be an only pet. Age: 2 years  Weight: approx 60 lbs   Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, spayed, and heartworm negative   Temperament: not good with other dogs or cats, initially cautious with new people, best with older kids.  Training: House trained, crate trained, some well trained.  Contact email:  Sheltersxshelvesrescue@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded, and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself November 6, 2024, 12:45 pm

Story
Ahoy there! SeaBiscuit here, looking to sail away to a good home! Landlubbers say I have gorgeous coloring and am rather unique looking (I would say aye to that.) I narrowly escaped being euthanized for space at an overcrowded shelter but a kind family saw my photo and decided to foster me. Talk about lucky!! Here are a few things to know about me. I am an energetic mate but settle down quickly. My fosters say I just melt into them and can’t get enough cuddling and snuggling. I am good with their teenage daughter and love her so much. I am friendly, playful, fun, know sit, give kisses, affectionate. I am house trained and crate trained. I know sit, lay down commands and I am working on touch, focus, turn, and stay commands. What else do you need to know? I have enjoyed the company of other dogs at the shelter and am trying to make friends with the dog in my foster home, except he’s taking his time to get to know me. I was going to put this message in a bottle but people tell me the internet is faster. So, please consider me, SeaBiscuit and allow me to sail into your home and heart! Check out my YouTube Video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/cv12D8OLm5s Age: 2.9 years Weight: 62 lbs Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, neutered and heartworm  negative and on prevention Temperament: Good with other dogs.  Good with older, respectful kids.   Training, House trained, crate trained, knows several commands  Email for questions: sonaligokhale@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Story
Gertie is such a sweet dog that we got as a puppy at the Humane Society. She was born 2/12/2019 per her adoption papers. Good with other animals. Very playful. Loves to run around the backyard and catch balls at the river. Shes a great guard dog and will always let you know when there’s a visitor nearby. She can be a little overwhelming to very small kids because of her excited jumping at first but she’s been around my son regularly since he was around 6. Having to downsize from my house w a yard to a shared apartment w a friend due to financial problems and my film production schedule being too much of a roller coaster ride for her. She needs a yard and a family w older kids. Very house trained and will tell you she needs to go out. She’s the best cuddler I know and it breaks my heart to have to rehome her. She’s truly a great dog and we will miss her very much.
