Story
Razzle Taz has the most beautiful coal black eyes that pierce  your soul as he stares at you begging for some love and attention.  This boy was taken from an abusive family who were bragging to co-workers about kicking and tying him up.  The co-worker contacted Critter Cavalry and we found a wonderful foster family that is spending time getting to know Razzle Taz and what his emotional and physical needs will be in life.  This boy is 6 months old and weighs 32 pounds.  He is slim and  sleek and has the energy of 3 puppies.   This boy is so smart and curious and he needs mentally fun challenges daily and some real walking and exercise time in a fenced backyard or on the road running with an active person.  This boy is very smart and would benefit from games, flyball, agility classes, just thinking activities paired with exercise.  He is friendly with everyone and good with cats, dogs, children and ready to take on learning all he can about the world.   If your are interested in this Mountain Cur mix pup please write to us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Male, 4 years old, 55 lbs Marvin is new to the rescue. We will add more information as we get to know the dog better. Marvin is sponsored in memory of Anjanette F's wonderful dog Ben, who helped foster 58 City Dogs! Fostering is a critical lifeline to save dogs for those who might not be ready to adopt. If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Apply for a DOG: http://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adoptable-dogs.html Interested in saving more lives? Foster a dog today! Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

Story
Mistletoe (also called Brownie) would love to find a home where she can be queen of the castle. She loves to cuddle with her people. She is great on the leash and enjoys long walks, but a fenced yard would be awesome! Her previous foster shared that she 'loves her 'Chuck it' ball and elk antlers, likes car rides and chasing squirrels. With the Cur in her, she does enjoy using her nose. We've introduced her to 'nose work' and tracking but have not been able to spend a lot of time practicing. Brownie's love language is absolutely touch, she is perfectly content cuddling all day long. She does like to be lazy and sleeps about 13 hours through the night with some naps during the day but she does love to be outside burning her energy off as well as basking in the sun.' Let us know if you would like to meet Mistletoe! Thank you for your interest in Mistletoe! Story
Bruce is a fabulous example of a forgiving and loving dog that was abandoned and found himself on the streets of a small town in Tennessee.  He had nowhere to go and some kind people took him in to hold him safely while Critter Cavalry Rescue takes time to find him the best home ever.   He is a Plott hound/Pit mix from what we can see in his markings and his stature.  He is 2 years old and 65 pounds and he is one special dog that is so handsome and is truly a gentle giant!  This boy has everything going for him with great house manners and housebroken as well.  He crate trained and is living in a foster home in an apartment.  He is a medium energy young man that gets along well with the other dog in his foster home.  He loves play time outside, as well as being a snuggly couch potato. Bruce is learning to walk on leash and will need daily practice to stop pulling. He loves to ride in a car, likes carrots and ice cubes. When at home he loves to look out the window and will do that for hours.  Recently he spent some time boarding and was a favorite with the staff and he demonstrated an ability to be very sweet and easy with some of the children of the staff members.  The only NO about Bruce is that he is not fond of cats, so no feline siblings.  He would probably do best with another gentle, playful dog of his same size.  He would be fine being the only dog and always center of attention, too!  Older children over 7 years of age might be best, but only because of his size.  If you are looking for a best friend and/or family member to run, hike, play, explore, and then curl up for some couch time, Bruce is your guy!  He is so beautiful and regal.  He looks around like he is surveying his kingdom and hoping that all is well.  You could really make his life a happy ending if you could consider adopting Bruce.  Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and ask all the questions that you need and also ask for an adoption form. Story
My name is Robbie and I am puppy at heart and only 6 months old.  My pictures make me look big but ready I am not big at all. I only weigh 35 pounds at 6 months and they say I will be 65-70- pounds as an adult.  I LUV KIDS!   My heart leaps for joy when I See children that I can play with and love on.  I am a boy that loves to run fast and for a little bit of time too.  I need not only physical Exercise but also some fun games and training games to help my smart brain feel challenged too.  I need a fenced yard and someone To help share playtime and games with me sometimes.  I could use the company of another dog as well to help me with the physical Playtime outside and also to keep me active with socialization with other dogs.   We think that Robbie has some Pointer in him since He raises once leg and seems to point quite often during this outside playtime.  He is alert and very smart.   He walks pretty well on a leash and he is curious to learn more things about life.  He is not inside a lot so we would have to say that he could be housebroken fast if given some one on one Attention and training.  This boy is good with cats, dogs and adores children.  He never meets a stranger and he will needs a fenced yard To best live within safely and to run and play for long hours if the weather is good.  We want a wonderful dog savvy and loving family for Robbie.   He will be a 65 pounds boy when fully grown we think.   If you are interested in knowing more about Robbie please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   Mention where you live.  We transport from Nashville, TN where we are based and we travel to the Northeastern region as well with our pre-adopted dogs.   Thank you for considering this precious boy   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 11, 2024, 7:28 pm

Story
We would like to introduce a very special rescue dog to all of you and her name is Pretty Pearl.  Her foster mom says that she has been through fire and back and now she has the character of beautiful PEARL, like in an oyster.  She has  been formed by adversity and yet her spirit is pure sweetness and love.  She has the markings and coloring of a Catahoula mixed with maybe a little Beagle which is what makes her all the more loving and easy going.  At about 5-6 years old and just a perfect medium size at just 40 pounds, she is the perfect companion to someone who lives in a smaller environment like an apartment or a townhouse. She truly has an endearing calmness and mellow approach to life and all the people around her notices this unique quality immediately.  Nothing ruffles her feathers at all.  I take it all in stride and just smooth the edges if needed and keep on going.  This girl is the perfect companion to someone that is in an apartment environment or a townhouse.  She is small, a couch potatoe that will most certainly be an outstanding companion during the winter months when life seems to slow down and cozy companionship is most desired and welcomed.  She was found living outside in horrible conditions and was full of ticks and fleas and very skinny.  Well soon she was introduced to the luxury of an inside lifestyle at her foster home and she has NEVER looked back.  She goes outside to do her potty breaks and rushes right back inside to keep her human fosters company.  Now, if you are outside with her then all is grand.  She is a skilled girl on a leash and if you want a hiking or walking buddy then Pearl is ready to go!   She has had NO accidents in the house since coming to the foster home.  Amazing statistics for a dog that lived outside all her life.  Maybe she truly just feels like being called “Queen” Pearl now.  She sure is being treated like a queen and she wants to stay in that kind of lifestyle.  We think Pretty Pearl will be a wonderful well-kept secret for someone looking for the best companion ever in the world. Pretty Pearl will be the best dog you have ever owned in your life. Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com You won’t regret adopting this girl.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 13, 2024, 9:22 pm
