Story
Keene, hound / mountain cur, 2-3 yo, 48 lb, neutered maleKeene is good natured and calm.  He is tactful and a little shy at first and looks the other way when you directly talk to him, but this is only at first. He gets deeply attached and can almost read your mind. He is a true companion, so nice to have around. Good with dogs with proper introduction. Loves car rides and does not miss a chance to jump in a car and stay there. Was saved by the efforts of several rescuers, a lot of people rooted for him. Adoption fee $325. Story
Hello, my name is Penelope and I,m a tan mountain cur mix. I was running around lost and this nice man picked me up and brought me here, thank you mister, I feel a whole lot safer.  I am 2 years old and still have oodles of life left in me.  I pray to have someone come and get me and take me to my forever home, maybe that could be you!  I will make a wonderful companion for you and your family.  I will be faithful, loyal but most of all I will give you all my love.  Please come in and check me out or you can look me and all the other animals that need good, safe, loving homes on their web site.   If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2155017##

Story
Jack is a great little dog all around. She's happy-go-lucky, easy to live with and fun to be around! She's quiet in her kennel, great with cats and good with strangers and other dogs. She's doing well with house training and has only had two accidents with us. She can get a little bit nervous around strangers but she warms up quickly. She's very much still a puppy and is always ready to play! Her ideal home has other dogs or cats for her to play with, is active and enjoys being outdoors with her. Her adoption fee is $375 Put in an app at eapl.com November 5, 2024, 2:57 pm

Story
Hi! I'm CJ, and I'm a 50 pound cattle dog mix, about 5 years old. I like everyone I meet, canine or human. No one is a stranger to me! My favorite things:-Making canine and human friends-Belly rubs, naps, and cuddling-Food!-Walks with stops to smell things. What I'm looking for in a home:-Another dog friend! (preferred but not required)-Either a yard, or someone that enjoys spending time outside and lets me sniff around-People who are home a lot and wont leave me alone too much! I'm the bestest boy and am ready to settle into the next part of my life! I do well in a kennel if my dog friend is next to me, I walk nicely on leash, know a few tricks, and do the best full body wiggle when I see you!  Do I sound like the buddy for you?! If you're interested in meeting me please fill out an application at www.thegooddogrescue.org (If you already have an approved application, please email thegooddogrescueadoptions@gmail.com with your interest in me!) My adoption fee is $250 and I am neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. I have genetically bad hips and the rescue is in the process of fixing them for me. I had the first one fixed and am recovering from that currently but doing better every day! (I can still walk 2-3 miles a day, It really isnt slowing me down too much) ##1538559##
