Story
Good with other dogs • Sits well in a car • Food motivated This adorable little pup has the most expressive face and the cutest pointy Schnauzer ears! She’s a sweet and affectionate companion who loves to cuddle close and gaze up at her people with loving eyes. She’s independent enough to entertain herself but always happiest when near her favorite humans. She’s already learned to sit on command and is eager to please. Like any young puppy, she loves to chew but listens well when redirected to a toy. She’s doing great with potty training—she figured out the puppy pad on day one and tries her best to be consistent. With regular trips outside and a clear spot for her puppy pad, she’s doing remarkably well for her age! At night, she sleeps peacefully with her sister in an open crate setup in the foster’s bathroom, settling in from 9 PM to 7 AM. She may wake up to use the puppy pad but doesn’t make a fuss and goes right back to sleep. She adores her sister, often wrestling and playing, but she’s also a little more cautious and takes comfort in having a buddy. She enjoys being close to her foster and will cry for a minute or two when left alone, but she settles quickly, especially with her sister nearby. With her affectionate nature, eagerness to learn, and love for both playtime and cuddles, she’s sure to be a wonderful addition to the right home!

She currently lives with other dogs and cats but doesn’t pay them much mind, so she’s perfectly content being your one and only. Winky has also been around kids and would be a sweet and gentle girl when little visitors stop by. She prefers living in a home with a yard, where she can relax and enjoy her days by your side. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey! You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!  The adoption fee is $1,600 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!  We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.  Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, PayPal, if using PayPal the potential adopter will have to pay the fees & charges with PayPal. Hawkeye has truly seen it all. It’s absolutely shocking & disturbing what these dogs endure but they fight for their lives. Soul destroying to think of what he has been through & yet he still loves human beings even after everything they have done to him. We cannot even begin to imagine what Hawkeye witnessed & heard when he was at the slaughterhouse, how Hawkeye ended up in a slaughterhouse for human consumption & yes you did read that correctly, we will never know? What we do know is, he was pulled out of there by our outstanding Chinese rescuer just in time. It’s absolutely soul destroying to think about the horrific situation he ended up in. Working with one of our truly devoted, dedicated & absolutely outstanding Chinese rescuers she rescued Hawkeye & many others for us. Without this beloved rescuer going in & getting Hawkeye out, his fate was a torturous death. She transferred Hawkeye to her own rescue & covid had hit & the waiting began. Along with Hawkeye & many other sweet souls she got well & they waited to come to the US. This became a very extremely expensive situation with covid. We were finally able to bring everyone back through cargo which is an astronomical expense per dog, but we believe every sweet soul such as Hawkeye & his & friends deserves to be loved & cherished & given the chance to have a wonderful life. On top of this wait, we had to wait an extra 9 months to bring these babies. They were supposed to arrive in October 2022 but arrived in 2023. Now Hawkeye is looking for a special family to cherish him & be patient with him & remember what this beautiful soul has been through & a family that meets all his needs. Hawkeye was rescued by our truly amazing Chinese rescue friends & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Chinese rescue who we are so extremely thankful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough. Hawkeye was bought back to the USA where he is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. This boy is the biggest sweetheart you will ever meet. He just wants you to love him & he will love you back. He adores being hugged & held because the reality is we are the first real people in his life to show him such true love & affection. He is a very soft gentle soul & you don’t even know he is there. When he arrived he was absolutely putrid, it’s so sad with how stinking filthy he was. He was a little uncertain with his baths at first but once he realized everything was ok he really enjoyed them & did good being dried with the hairdryer. Hawkeye has not been taught to walk on harness & leash considering we believe we are the first people to teach him. He would need continued work walking on his harness & leash. Hawkeye is a rescue & will need patience, time & understanding. Hawkeye adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing him, cleaning his eyes, grooming him, he loves it all. He also does extremely well being touched in general & adores receiving love. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to Hawkeye & we have been excited to change his world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. So far he has shown no interest in toys in his foster home. He likes laying on you when he is with you or on comfy blankets. Hawkeye has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car & enjoys a good car ride. He is such an amazing, loving little lad. With Hawkeye we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lad only. Please do not apply with the intent to crate this boy. We are also looking for a forever home for Hawkeye where someone is home during the day or Hawkeye can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. Did we mention this boy loves a good outfit too. Hawkeye is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be very patient with him & understanding. Hawkeye has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & enjoys their company. He can be found at times snuggled up to his foster siblings. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for Hawkeye’s new forever home if it’s a free standing home. Hawkeye is now roughly 12 lbs & is 6 years old & a miniture schnauzer & what he is mixed with we are not sure? He is neutered & male, he received a dental scale & polish. He is microchipped, previously had his shots including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. We do not over vaccinate dogs & once they expire we only will redo rabies. Hawkeye just had a dental scale & polish & got several teeth removed. We have spent far more on Hawkeye with bringing him to the US with his travel airfare costs, $2200 alone, bringing him through NY into Seattle, without anything else then on top of that paying for his medical care & boarding fees, including a dental/scale & polish, shots, microchip etc, than his adoption fee comes close to covering. Hawkeye has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have not had Hawkeye with small children so we do not recommend children, but it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & animals. We were not there when Hawkeye was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Hawkeye’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Hawkeye potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Hawkeye & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit using Webex due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Hawkeye who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this lovely sweet boy. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Hawkeye has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.

Pari was bought back to the USA where she is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. Pari is one of the most joyous souls we have ever met & she has come such along way since she arrived from China. The reality is she had to learn everything new here. Her foster mum said she is so vivacious & up for any adventure that comes her way. We put her into a daycare & tested her with countless dogs & she has done amazing. She loves both woman & men. We will only be accepting applications for Tim who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this lovely sweet boy. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Tim has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.
We'll also keep you updated on Iwan's adoption status with email updates.

Another beautiful calm soul & the horror she has endured is unfathomable. Soul destroying to think of what she has been through & yet she still loves human beings even after everything they have done to her. We cannot even begin to imagine what Iwan witnessed & heard when she was at the slaughterhouse, how Iwan ended up in a slaughterhouse for human consumption & yes you did read that correctly, we will never know? What we do know is, she was pulled out of there by our outstanding Chinese rescuer just in time. It’s absolutely soul destroying to think about the horrific situation she ended up in. With her gentle personality we do not know how she survived this? Working with one of our truly devoted, dedicated & absolutely outstanding Chinese rescuers she rescued Iwan & many others for us. Without this beloved rescuer going in & getting Iwan out, her fate was a torturous death. She transferred Iwan to her own rescue & covid had hit & the waiting began. Along with Iwan & many other sweet souls she got well & they waited to come to the US. This became a very extremely expensive situation with covid. We were finally able to bring everyone back through cargo which is an astronomical expense per dog, but we believe every sweet soul such as Iwan & her & friends deserves to be loved & cherished & given the chance to have a wonderful life. On top of this wait, we had to wait an extra 9 months to bring these babies. They were supposed to arrive in October 2022. Now Iwan is looking for a special family to cherish her & be patient with her & remember what this beautiful soul has been through & a family that meets all her needs. Iwan was rescued by our truly amazing Chinese rescue friends & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Chinese rescue who we are so extremely thankful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough. Iwan was bought back to the USA where she is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. Iwan is one of the gentlest souls we have ever met & she has come such along way since she arrived from China. She has the type of personality where she would let a dog eat her food. The reality is she had to learn everything new here. She is the type of schnauzer who will wait for her foster mum wherever she is & look for her & will follow her around. If her foster siblings follow her, so will she. We put her into a daycare & tested her with countless dogs & she has done amazing. She loves both woman & men. This girl is the biggest sweetheart you will ever meet. She is so forgiving. She just wants you to love her & she will love you back. She adores being hugged & held once she knows you & is comfortable with you because the reality is we are the first real people in her life to show her such true love & affection. Iwan eats a clean diet meaning she eats raw fruits, vegetables, proteins & grains along with supplements. She also enjoys collagen sticks & bully sticks. When she arrived she was absolutely putrid, it’s so sad with how stinking filthy she was. She was a little uncertain with her baths at first but once she realized everything was ok she really enjoyed them & did good being dried with the hairdryer. She is now used to be groomed also. Iwan is still learning to walk on harness & leash considering we believe we are the first people to teach her how to go on walks but would still need to be taught. Iwan has been taught to walk on a slip lead. Iwan is a rescue & will need patience, time & understanding. Iwan adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing her, cleaning her eyes, grooming her, she loves it all. She also does extremely well being touched in general & adores receiving love. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to Iwan & we have been excited to change her world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. She likes laying on you when she is with you or on comfy blankets. She definitely will want to sleep in bed with you & enjoys laying on the couch. Iwan has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car & enjoys a good car ride. She is such an easy & sweet going, loving little lady. With Iwan we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lady only. Please do not apply with the intent to crate this girl. We are also looking for a forever home for Iwan where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly he can go with them. Did we mention this girl loves a good outfit too. Iwan is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be very patient with her & understanding. Iwan has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & she is currently with other dogs & enjoys their company so we are looking for a home where she can be with another dog or dogs or she could be the only dog in the home & receive all the love & attention. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for Iwan’s new forever if it’s a freestanding dwelling. Iwan is now roughly 13 lbs & is 5 years old & female schnauzer & what she is mixed with we are not sure? She is spayed, she had a dental/scale & polish along with roughly 17 extractions. She is microchipped, had her shots including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. But once these shots expire we do redo them as we do not over vaccinate our dogs & will only redo the rabies. When she arrived she was supposed to be a male but she was a female but regardless we are grateful to of rescued her. We have spent far more on Iwan with bringing her to the US with her travel airfare costs, $2200 alone, bringing her through NY into Seattle, without anything else then on top of that paying for her medical care & boarding fees, including a dental/scale & polish, shots, microchip etc, than her adoption fee comes close to covering. Iwan has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have not had Iwan with small children so we do not recommend children, but it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & animals. We were not there when Iwan was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Iwan’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Iwan potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Iwan & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system.
