Story
:NO OTHER PETS: A perfect dog for a human who loves love - needs attention and respect like the rest of us. Extremely smart and shows attitude. Does not like other dogs around. With the right help and attention - she will do great! Does well when asked to go outside and potty. Will use potty pads as well. Please give her some time to relax and give her all the pets and hugs and kisses and she's golden. For sure needs someone who will be there most days and give a warm welcome when coming home from work or school. She does okay with children - as long as they are gentle and not loud. She was in a home where she was caged outside for two years. Then she was in a home for one year where she was gated (tore up hard wood flooring) and bullied the other two dogs. Then me for over a year. She is a GREAT dog. Just needs a loving home to give attention and patience. I am a dog groomer and I am willing to continue to groom her for she doesn't love the process. Thank YOU!

Story
PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - SISSY BREED - Schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle mix) SIZE - About 15 pounds AGE - 3 years GENDER - Female MEDICAL CONCERNS - None known BEHAVIOR CONCERNS - None known SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Sissy is a happy girl! She is full of life and energy and a ball of fun! She came to us recently from a NC shelter partner where she had been found as a stray. She was matted, likely from fleas and itching, but is now beautiful with almost all her hair grown back in. Sissy loves playing with toys and being with her person. She tolerates other well behaved dogs but prefers being the center of your world. Eating alone is a must and this girl can chow down! Fully grown at just 14 pounds, she is a perfect size for most homes! Sissy is in good health, spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. Sissy is best suited to a home without small children who could easily be put off by her energy. An experienced owner will patiently help her learn manners and boundaries - this girl thinks she owns the world and is in charge! We are seeking a home with an active adopter who has the ability to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time teaching this amazing dog boundaries. A home without larger pets and with a fenced, secure yard will give her room to run and play, two things she does superbly! Queen Sissy is looking forward to meeting you! Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of Sissy and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and your family with Sissy at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting her and determining that she matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
