Story
Meet Winston Winston is a beautiful Schnauzer who is approximately 6-7 years old and weighs 20 pounds. He came to us from Weslaco shelter near the border of Mexico. He was so neglected when he came to us and was very patient with us when we cut his matting off his face. Dogs know! Winston is a sweet and gentle boy with the best ears! He has a short warming up period to get to know new people. But once he feels safe and comfortable, his personality starts to shine through. He is very treat motivated and is very gentle taking them, too. He would love to lay with you on the couch and relax, watch a movie and go for a nice walk. He has a sweetheart spirit, and he doesn't seem to remember his neglected past. Winston is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas. He is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and his adoption fee is $325. A meet and greet will be arranged with an approved application. **Winston tested positive for Chagas disease and has started treatment. This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Our rescue is one of the first to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having measurable success in the treatment protocol. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs.
