Gentle encouragement, patience, and a peaceful home will help this sweetheart continue to blossom. Vince is looking for a kind, understanding family who will let trust grow slowly and celebrate every small victory. Story
Meet Shadow Jayden, a 5-year-old, 13-pound Schnauzer mix with a complex heart and a story that’s still unfolding. Shadow came to us from another shelter and has been struggling to feel safe and settled in the kennel environment. Shadow is a highly fearful and reactive dog who finds new people and situations overwhelming. He is especially reactive around barriers. Because of this, Shadow will need a very experienced, patient, and dog-savvy adopter or rescue partner who understands how to work with fear-based behaviors. While he’s doing okay with his potty training, he’ll need continued consistency and a calm, structured environment to thrive. Leash training has been challenging due to his reactivity, and he will need slow, positive reinforcement to help him feel more secure. Shadow Jayden isn’t ready for the average home—but with the right person who’s willing to give him time, space, and understanding, we believe there’s potential for him to begin healing. He needs someone who sees beyond his fear and is committed to helping him feel safe in a world that’s been very scary so far. Adoption fee is: $150 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. Story
Piper says if you are looking for a furry friend of your own, look no further! Piper is around 9 years old. She loves walks but also loves her time on the comfy couch (or dog bed). She’s not one who wants to be outside for too long (no matter the temperature) so a fenced backyard for quick potty breaks or a quick walk on a leash and she is good to go! Piper came to wescue with bad skin and very little hair and has come a LONG way. Our vets discovered she has a heart murmur, so Piper gets daily medications to keep her healthy. She will need a home that can keep her on a strict diet to keep her looking and feeling her best! Age: 9 years old Weight: 22 lbs Dogs: Good Cats: unknown Children: no Piper has been vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. Her adoption donation is $250 and includes a minimum of 90 days medications, 6 months’ heartworm preventative, prepaid lifetime premium microchip registration, and safety harness If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting Piper, please apply online at wsrh.com Please do NOT send inquiries via Adopt A Pet or PetFinder as we are a small rescue and cannot handle a large number of inquiries. If you have a specific question, please email us at westiehouston@gmail.com but in order to be considered for adoption, you must complete an application. All dogs are available until “Adoption Pending” is noted next to their names. WSRH DOES NOT HAVE A PUBLIC SHELTER. ALL OF OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN PRIVATE HOMES. Approved adopters only will be invited
