“Hi, I’m Cindi! My foster family lovingly calls me “Cindi Lou Who,” but with my stylish mohawk I actually look more like the Grinch’s dog, Max. I am about as sweet as they come and prefer to be right by your side. I am great with other dogs, cats and kids. I am learning to relax in my new environment and have some separation anxiety but do well in a kennel. I am doing great with house training and I am quiet and content. I would do great with another dog who could teach me confidence. I love to snuggle day and night. If you are looking for a small, loving, new bestie, I’m your girl!” If you are interested in adopting email Barcfoster@houstontx.gov

Story
Hi. My name is Boone. Yes… Boone in a red bucket. You’re probably wondering why a perfectly good dog is sitting in a bright red bucket like a rejected toy from aisle seven. Allow me to explain. This photo was taken right after my very first trip to the groomer, while I waited for my foster mom to pick me up. Before that? A very kind lady found me on the streets, and my hair was so matted and tangled that she actually broke her clippers trying to shave me. I wish I were exaggerating. I’m not. It hurt. I had clearly been on my own for a while. Thankfully, that nice lady brought me to Twilight Tails, and they sent me to a professional to finish the job. Just you wait until my hair grows back in—I am going to be quite the looker. For now, let’s call this my “minimalist phase”. So, about me: We’ve agreed I’m some kind of Mini Schnauzer/Terrier/Maltese mix, about 12 pounds, and roughly 2 years old. Compact, portable, and perfect for cuddling. My foster mom says I am VERY affectionate and lovable, which is true. I don’t love being left alone in those wire crate things—I much prefer being with my person. If I could explain it better, I would, but I think “please don’t leave me” covers it. I have medium energy, I play nicely with other dogs, but if given the choice, I will pick my human every single time. I may seem shy for about five minutes, and then I’m all hugs, kisses, and devotion. Also, treats. I really love treats. I had never had them before. Same with toys. I’m still figuring those out. At night, I sleep at the foot of my foster mom’s bed. In the morning, when the lights come on, I immediately cover her with kisses. This is non-negotiable. I walk well on a leash, and now that I have a sweater, I’m very happy to go for neighborhood walks. I would do great in an apartment or a home with a yard. Other dogs are fine but not required. I’d probably be okay with cats too—I’m pretty sure I met a few while surviving on the streets. I am the perfect dog for someone who wants a loving, loyal companion. I don’t need much—just a person to love and a place to belong. I hope to meet my forever family soon. I promise to love you forever. Boone ___________________________________________________________________________________ MORE DETAILS: Boone is neutered, microchipped & vaccinated and would benefit from being adopted by a dog-loving person who understands he has so much to offer but will need a little time to adjust and settle in with his new family. NOTE: THIS IS AN "OUT OF TOWN PET" - that means he is not at this location but we do have transport here - more about transport below. Our Rescue is Houston based (https://www.facebook.com/TwilightTailsRescue) and all our fosters and Rescue Ranch are in and around Houston. Currently this Boone is being fostered at our Rescue Ranch near Houston, TX but can be brought close to your home on rescue transport which comes through your area once a month. Transport info below. Adoption fee is $495 plus $30 for a health certificate and $250 for transport. Please complete the application on this link: https://forms.gle/FKSMBuoGTujaTkun8 Or email Sandra.ttr.tx@gmail.com for a link to the application. Once your application is approved, we can arrange a FaceTime session for you to meet him. Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who can alternate. This is how we communicate in real time. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on-time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport. We use what we think is the best dog transport service in the region and have for years - Andrea and her crew really offer first class transport!

Story
If you’re looking for a fun, funny, and affectionate pup to brighten your days, look no further — Dougie is ready to meet you! This high-energy little guy LOVES to play fetch (all day if you let him!) and never misses the chance to chase down a ball or explore the backyard for sticks. When he’s not playing, Dougie enjoys being close to his people, soaking up all the love and attention he can get. He’s also a curious explorer who wants to see and sniff the world right alongside you. Dougie is a smart boy who is making great progress with potty training and learning new tricks. With just a bit more consistency and patience, he’ll continue to thrive. He does wonderfully in his crate, sleeping through the night with no problem, and so far he hasn’t shown much interest in barking — he’s too busy having fun! He gets along well with other dogs and would do best in a home with a playful companion who can match his energetic spirit. Dougie’s Perfect Home: 🐾An active family or individual who loves to play and explore 🐾A dog sibling who enjoys high-energy playtime 🐾A patient, loving home that will continue his training journey 🐾Plenty of fetch time, backyard exploring, and cuddles! If you’re searching for a loyal sidekick who will make you laugh, keep you active, and fill your days with love, Dougie is ready to be your forever adventure buddy. Come meet him — he can’t wait to play fetch with you! 🎾 Dougie is a male Miniature Schnauzer/Terrier mix with an estimated date of birth of 3/1/25. He weighs 18 lbs.

Story
The first 5 years of Millie’s life were with a woman who had 22 crated dogs used for breeding! When she was taken from that deplorable situation, she was taken in by a foster mother who took excellent care of her, getting her to a vet & having her vaccinated & caring for any other health issues. Unfortunately, the foster mother couldn’t keep her because she already had two large dogs. My husband & I took her in & have had her for 7 years. NOW, we are seniors & both having health issues that are making it difficult to give her the care she needs. She is a good girl & very sweet & smart.

Pierce is a good looking boy straight from the streets of Houston. He is a wonderful, funny boy when he trusts you but trust is not something that comes easy for him. He has obviously been let down by humans his entire life. He is currently living with our trainer, who is helping him understand that humans can be good and trusted. Pierce is just about 2 years old, 60 pounds and maybe a schnauzer/husky mix. He needs an experienced handler who can continue to help him build h is confidence and trust in humans. Pierce is up to date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped. Pierce is currently heartworm positive but we will continue to cover treating him through the slow kill method. Story
Hello there, I'm Bliztie! I am a happy, social, and friendly pup with a permanent snaggle-tooth looking for my fur-ever home. I can be a little shy at first, but once I warm up, I am a very snuggly and happy pup! My favorite things are walking around the neighborhood, napping, and getting pets from my humans. I am still figuring out toys, but tiny plush ones I can carry around in my mouth are so far my favorites. I'm a very cheerful dog whose tail wags most of the day, especially with my foster humans. Whenever I see them when they come home or after I wake up from a nap, I start sneezing with excitement! I am crate and potty trained, but I prefer to sleep on a cushion or a couch. Come and meet me soon so I can find my perfect and fur-ever home! Blitzie is a female Cairn Terrier/Shih Tzu mix with an estimated date of birth of 12/15/22. She weighs 9 lbs.
