Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ERNIE was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on Sunday, 1st September 2024. We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. Ernie is neutered , rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of August 2019 and at the end of August weighed around 20 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. H e does need an active family who will ensure she gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that she needs to live a happy fulfilling life. Ernie has an adoption fee of $550 Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. Story
Hello, my name is: JuneDOB: 11/23/2016Sex/Breed: Spayed female Miniature SchnauzerWeight: 15.4 lbsFriends: Adults, dogs, catsTraits: Reserved, gentle, quietRescued From: Breeding kennelJune came to All 4 Paws from a breeding kennel after she was no longer wanted for breeding purposes. Used and tossed aside, this beautiful girl hasn't lived a day as she should. As soon as she arrived in our care her foster family went to work showing her the true life of a pet, where she is cared for and safe. Living in a home is a completely new adventure for June, but she is trying her best to be brave. She mostly keeps to herself and watches her surroundings from a quiet place. Having a confident dog more her size in her forever home will help her learn how to be a dog herself and let her guard down. For now, she needs space and time to learn how to trust. Her family will need to be patient with her as she learns. She will need a home with a yard and a secure area to be outside due how nervous she is. June's ideal home will also be on the quiet side with cozy spaces for her to feel safe in. Despite being scared, she doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She has gotten along with other dogs and cats without issue. We cannot wait to see the real June emerge! Who will be lucky enough to watch this lovely little lady flourish in their home as a forever pet??Help us continue to step up for dogs like June and consider donating towards their medical care: https://secure.givelively.org/donate/all-4-paws-rescueAll our dogs are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.Interested in adopting? Story
URGENT! CHECKER DESPERATELY IS STILL LOOKING FOR A HERO! COULD THAT BE YOU?! Checker was tossed out of a car in Chester Media, PA area -Mini Schnauzer mix ?! -approximately 2 years old, about 14 lbs. -playful and loves to go for walks -he loves car rides Most likely abused and neglected, Checker was seen being tossed out of a car in Chester - Please share for this poor boy! Checker is a young, playful pup. He is learning to trust humans and will seek lots of love and attention once he is comfortable. He really likes to be with his people. Checker has done well with other dogs his size that are energetic and playful and that will correct his puppy behavior. He has also done well with larger dogs that are tolerant of some of his puppy shenanigans. Checker’s ideal home is one without children and a someone who has dog experience. He does NOT share food and has bitten twice over food. This is completely manageable by feeding him alone. He is not thrilled with being crated and seems to have some trauma regarding the crate. However, he does well when he is crated next to another dog! He will bark constantly and seems scared when approached in a crate if not crated near another dog. He does well confined to a room. When confining, he needs a tall gate or door because he is a great jumper. He loves to be in bed with his people and will settle down and snooze after some goofiness, rolling around in the bed. Please let us know if an experienced foster or forever home is willing to help this sweet boy overcome his trauma and have some patience with him. Checker has a lot of love to give and needs to learn to trust and have some confidence. Please contact Christine at christine@therescueexpress.org if anyone can help. Thank you for sharing! The Rescue Express is a 501c3 non- profit rescue registered in Garnet Valley, PA. Our kennel license number is 6285.
