Story
Meet Mira! Mira is a 2-year-old purebred Miniature Schnauzer who is officially ready for adoption! She has been spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. During her vetting, she also received a full dental cleaning to ensure she’s as healthy as possible before finding her forever home. Mira’s story could have taken a very different path. Instead of ending up in a loving home, she was on the verge of being placed into another breeder’s program, destined for a life of repeated litters. But thankfully, someone stepped in and connected her breeder with us instead. Because of that, Mira now has the chance to just be a dog❤️🐾 to play, to explore, and most importantly, to be loved for who she is, not for what she can produce. Mira is a confident, affectionate, and playful little dog with just the right amount of sass. She loves being with her people and will happily follow you around the house, always curious about what you’re doing. She has a fun, spunky side and enjoys zooming around the yard, but she settles down nicely and is always ready for cuddles. She is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on a leash. She gets along with dogs of all sizes and has a friendly, adaptable personality. Whether she’s trotting by your side on a walk or curling up next to you after a long day, she’s happy just being with her people. Mira’s adoption fee is $2,000, which includes her spay (she was in heat), her dental procedure, and the time, care, and training we have personally provided to ensure she is ready for her new home. If you think Mira is the perfect addition to your family, we’d love to hear from you! We have a transport leaving for NorCal/Oregon on March 28 and would love to include her on the trip for the right home❤️ We offer out-of-state adoptions and can arrange transportation to your location, provided that the transport expenses are covered. Get in touch with us today and share details about yourself, the loving home you can provide, and your experience with the breed. We will be in contact with you shortly. Thank you!

Story
We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs home leaving on 3/28/25 to NorCal and OR. Surrounding states will be added to our route if needed ☺️ We would love to add Kate to our trip for the right home 💕 Meet Kate. She is a purebred, silver and white miniature schnauzer. She turns 1 year of age on 4/10/25. She weighs 13.19 lbs. Yes, she is full grown in stature. She will put on few more pounds as she matures but is at an overall good weight as is, she is just naturally lean 😊 She is very leggy, and the fact she had to have her body shaved down due to matting upon coming to us makes her look even leggier! She is spayed, current on all yearly vaccines, microchipped, and has been thoroughly examined, and cleared by our vet to find a home all her own ❤️ She is house trained, and will go outside to use the restroom as needed throughout the day. She is very good about going “outside” when asked to. She is very smart, and very attentive to what you ask of her which has made training very easy. She is crate trained, and currently sleeps in a crate at night or to nap in during the day by choice. She is very calm and at peace whenever in her crate so as long as it's continued to be used in a positive manner in her next home then she will continue to love having one around. She could definitely sleep on a bed next to yours, or in bed with you if you'd like! She is a sweetie pie and would be so happy being able to be closer to you however that looks in your home. She does have free roam of our home during the day and she does absolutely wonderful with that freedom to go about her day. She doesn't chew on anything she isn't supposed to chew on, and is rather calm natured and while alert as most schnauzers are to their surroundings she is happy just being able to hang out near her humans! She is great with other dogs, and has even lived with a cat prior to coming to us that she loved. Kate isn't social right off the beginning when meeting anyone she doesn't know, whether human or animals but once she comes around she will be a friend for life. She is sweet!! She has an incredibly beautiful soul, and one that everyone wants to know, even if she has to make sure you are safe before she lets you all the way into her heart I promise it's worth the wait! She has been introduced to the leash, and has been doing very well on it. She will definitely need continued reassurance on leash in her next home, but with the right person leading the way her confidence will grow and the world will be even more exciting experiencing it with her person in tow! She is not a barker, and is very quiet for a schnauzer. She will alert you occasionally of unfamiliar noises but her confidence definitely stems from her human so she is never afraid to let you take the lead in any situation she isn't sure of. She aims to please, and has made working with her an absolute joy! She is a special girl, and one you'll want to call yours ❤️❤️❤️ She is amazing on road trips, and will quietly lay in her bed til you arrive at your destination. She is very laid back, and isn't high energy so if you are looking for a girl to enjoy taking trips with, or just lounging around enjoying life then she will happily fill that role ❤️ She is wonderful with our groomers, and is always ready for a spa day! She really enjoys bath time, and being brushed which makes maintaining her coat between grooms very easy on us 😊 Her adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/_kate It covers her spay, vaccines, microchip/registration, care involved in the time she has been with us, her grooming costs, and her training we have personally done with her ❤️

Story
Meet Heidi, a sweet 21 lb. Mini Schnauzer who's looking for her forever home. She's super chill, loves hanging out with her humans, and gets along great with other calm dogs. Heidi is the momma of the pack at heart, always ready for cuddles or a nap on the couch or her dog bed. She is crate trained and sleeps peacefully through the night, but if you want her beside you in bed, she'll be more than happy with that too! She is leash-trained and enjoys short walks and is also potty-trained. She will wait by the door and speak until you let her out. Heidi's an affectionate girl who would be a great fit for anyone looking for a sassy but loving companion. You'll always have someone to talk to with her as she is a good listener and sometimes talks back too! lol. She lights up the room with her excitement and I know would be great in any home where she is spoiled. She was a former breeding dog, and her coat was in rough condition because of a poor diet and lack of proper nutrition. Her puppies took a lot of nutrients from her during pregnancy, but unfortunately, her breeder didn’t provide the care she needed to recover. As a result, she developed a bacterial skin infection and inflammation, which required two shots. Thankfully, she has been improving well, with noticeable progress in her hair growth and skin health. Heidi has been up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and was spayed. During her spay she also had a dental procedure, ears examined. She has been cleared by our vet to find her forever home. Her adoption fee is $2,500. It covers her spay (she was in heat at time of spay), microchip (lifetime registration), vaccinations, dental procedure, and extra anesthesia/iv fluid time. The extra care and training we have personally done since the time she has been with us until she finds her forever home. We have a transport leaving for NorCal/Oregon March 28, 2025, and would love to include her for the right home. We're located in Hesperia, CA. but can arrange transportation anywhere in the U.S. if needed so long as the adopter covers the cost. Email us today and share details about yourself, the loving home you can provide, and your experience with the breed. We will be in contact shortly. Thank you!

You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!  The adoption fee is $1,600 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!  We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.  Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option.
