*This dog is scheduled to arrive in Grimsby, Ontario on Saturday, March 22, 2025*Apply to adopt at rebeldogrescue.com*All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website. Louie is a fun-loving, high-energy pup with a unique look and an even bigger personality! This happy, affectionate boy thrives on activity and adventure. He loves to run, chase balls, go for walks, and explore new places. Water is one of his favorite things - hell happily splash around for fun! Hes also a cuddle bug who will dive into your lap for pets, roll over for belly rubs, and even squeeze his head under your arms just to give you puppy-dog eyes. Louie is crate-trained, highly intelligent, and a quick learner. He does great with bigger dogs but can be selective with smaller ones. Hes still working on leash manners and can be reactive to other dogs while walking, but with consistent training, hell continue to improve. We are looking for a home outside of a busy urban area for Louie. Poor Louie was brought into a kill-shelter when her owners stated that they could not longer afford a dog. Understandably, he was terrified and anxious in the shelter environment. He had notes as being unpredictable and attempting to bite when being handled by a worker (he does not have a bite history), however, other shelter workers did not experience this behaviour at all and had no concerns with him. Whatever the case, fortunately he was rescued before it was too late, and outside of the scary shelter environment he has shown us what a sweetheart he is.The ideal home for Louie is an active household who is looking for an adventure buddy and excited about bonding with their dog through training. He would love a family that has dog experience, makes him a priority, is willing to continue training, and gives him the time and affection he craves. Louie has so much love, loyalty, and joy to offer - hes a truly special dog who deserves a home just as amazing as he is!Name: LouieBreed: Schnauzer mixAge: ~2 yearsWeight: ~37lbSex: Male, neuteredColour: SilverMedical: No concerns Good with men: YesGood with women: YesGood with kids 0-6: Not tested, but would suggest no Good with kids 6+: Not tested, but would suggest older Good with dogs: Yes, but is best with dogs or similar size or larger. he has been known to want to chase smaller dogs (specifically poodles for some reason) Good with cats: No House trained: 90%Crate trained: YesResource guarding: None seen Walks on a leash: Yes, but pulls Energy level: High Requires detached/single home: YesSeparation anxiety: None noted Barker: Average
