Story
Hi, my name is Sinbad. I’m a very sweet boy who is in rescue with my brother Jaxon. Although my foster mom doesn’t think it is absolutely necessary, it would be nice if we could be adopted together. Both of my owners passed away recently, so I’m looking for a new family to love. I’m 13 years old and really healthy for my age. I weigh 21 lbs. (so am kind of a bruiser), have had all those pokey things called shots, I just had my teeth cleaned (I have 8 teeth left!!), am neutered and microchipped, and I do great at the vets and the groomer. Everyone talked about what a good boy I am. I’m crate trained (but don’t really like my crate if I don’t have to be in it), like to talk to you (a lot), and am good with the other kids in my foster home. I absolutely LOVE to run, so if I could have a fenced in yard, that would make me so very happy. I don’t know about cats or other critters, but my foster mom thinks I’d probably chase them. I’m pretty quick for an old guy. She makes me stay on a leash when I’m outside, since I’d make a break for it otherwise. My leash manners are a little iffy, but I’m working on them. I love to be with you and would be your best snuggle bunny if I came to live with you! I’m being fostered in Michigan and can’t wait to meet you! Gets along with other dogs? Yes Gets along with cats? Story
Meet Puddles! A happy, energetic, one year old Parti Schnauzer mix, with maybe a splash of Maltese. Puddles was surrendered by her rescuer who found her alone on the streets. Not being able to find her original owner, she reached out to SRC for help. Now fully vetted she is ready to find a family with no children, to do life with. Her absolute favorites are cuddles, couch hangs were she can get a lot of pets, and playing. Puddles loves her toys and loves playing fetch. She also loves Laying in her yard and running as fast as she can around it, so for this reason her foster mom says a fenced yard is what she would enjoy most. Puddles is a girl who knows what she wants. She loves her things and her person all to herself, so would do best being the only dog. This cute girl coexists well with other dogs, but has taught the others, her things are hers! She would do best in a home with no other dogs, and no children or children visiting. This cutie is the total package! Utd on vaccines, spayed, housebroken, chipped, & crate trained. If she sounds like the perfect fit for your family grab that application and get approved to meet her. Updated 8-3-2024 $400 adoption fee is for both pups! Meet the dynamic duo of Henry and Helen! These sweet pups are puppy mill survivors. They were found alone in an abandoned house, and we’d like them to stay together. Henry is approx. 7-8 years old, 12 lbs. schnauzer/terrier mix (maybe some Beagle?). He LOVES his person and constantly will follow you around the house. His favorite activities include snuggling, napping, and hanging outside. He is house trained, does OK on a leash, and rarely makes a noise. You may hear him whine a little bit if he doesn’t know where you are. While out of the house, he is either left out or in the office with the door closed. He is trusted and doesn’t use a crate. He can do stairs and jump off/on the bed and couch. Story
$400 adoption fee is for both pups! Helen is approx. 9-10 years old, about 10 lbs. and a schnauzer mix (with the fluffiest tail and floppy ears). This lady is an angel. She is mostly blind and partially deaf but gets around well. This does not stop her so don’t let it stop you! Helen loves lounging in the sun, napping, and generally being the sweetest pup in the land. This gal is low maintenance and does not bark at all. She isn’t leashed train so a fenced in yard is required. She does need picked up to put on bed and couch. You just kind of pick her up, put her where you want her, and she’s good to go. She is house trained and like Henry is either left out or put in the office while her foster parents are out. Both dogs do well in the car, at the groomer, and at the vet. They do have sensitive tummies and take a probiotic but are healthy. Both Henry and Helen eat casually when they are hungry but do like treats. Both spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, and on flea/heartworm preventative. They have been around children as young as 2, not tested with cats, and get along with other dogs. If you are looking for quiet, chill dogs that are full of love and sweetness then this is the pair for you! Gets along with other dogs? Yes Gets along with cats? Unknown Gets along with other pets? Story
Meet 8 year old Jingles, Your Sweet New Companion!! Jingles is a loving and gentle soul seeking a special home that can accommodate his needs as a diabetic pup. Diagnosed just this year, Jingles hadn’t been fed a proper diet and his weight became out of control. Now with no table food, prescription food, insulin injections twice daily he is doing phenomenal. His care is all about routine. He takes his daily injections like a champ and he’s down 10 lbs. since entering rescue. Jingles loves to run and play with is foster brothers and sisters so a home with back yard is a must as well as another pup. He will walk on a leash, but does require some training as he does pull. He is completely house broken, and crate trained. Even though this sweet boy is crate trained he does love to sleep in the bedroom with you on a doggie bed at night. He is up to date on all vaccines, prevention, chipped, a dental, and neutered. If you think you are the perfect family for Jingles, please fill out an application. Gets along with other dogs? Story
Meet Alice, an approximately 5-year-old, 15-lbs. miniature schnauzer with a grey salt-and-pepper coat, docked tail, and altered ears. Alice has been spayed and is up-to-date on all vaccinations and exams and does not have any known history of illness or medical needs. Alice is being fostered in the Columbus, Ohio area. Alice came to us from a puppy mill where she was a breeding dog. It is apparent that she has had a few litters, but she is in great physical health. She was spayed in July and had a hernia repaired, but didn’t even need a dental at her first vet visit ever! She is microchipped and housebroken, and has been getting used to the cozy life as a house pet. When she initially came to us, she was very timid and shy, and frightened by most things since everything was new, big, and scary! But in the last 2 months, Alice has gone from hiding in the smallest, most uncomfortable of places in the house and yard to snoozing on the couch and bed, and playing with our dog Rocky. She loves running around the yard playing with toys and has also made friends with the neighbors and their pets too. She has learned quite a bit in the last couple months and has proven herself a quick learner! She has also become fond of walking on a leash – it only took one try and she got used to the new concept, and gets very excited for our neighborhood walks now. She loves squeaky toys and bones, grabbing them from the basket herself and proudly carrying them around! Alice can be fearful of new people given her history, but has never shown any aggression. It doesn’t take long for her to warm-up, but she still separates herself when strangers come into her space. Her “safe spot” is in my office by the desk where she can see down the hallway into the kitchen, but has the security of a separate area. She has come a long way but would do best with new parent(s) that will continue to work with her on trust and socialization. She would also do best in a house with other dogs to play with and encourage her. We have not used a crate with her, rather started her in a designated area and slowly expanded that area when away from home. She would likely do best in a home with adults and older children only, and parent(s) who aren’t gone for long stretches at a time. A fenced in yard would also be required, as mill pups are an inherent flight risk. Plus, running around the yard is her favorite activity, with watching out the living room window a close second! She is a quiet girl until she sees a dog walking by, when she starts wagging and barking. She also sounds off when one of us comes home out of excitement. Alice is a great sleeper, having joined our dog in our bedroom in the first week. If you think you could be her human(s), we would love to hear from you! A home visit and vet reference check will be required. This special girl has been a pleasure to have in our home, and it is clear that she just wants to be part of a loving family. Gets along with other dogs? Yes Gets along with cats? Unknown Gets along with other pets? Yes Suitable for kids? Yes If so – what age? 8 and up Leash trained? She’s new to the leash but doing very well! Crate trained? No, we decided against small spaces given her history House-trained? Yes Spayed or neutered? Yes Fenced yard Required?
