Our Team Says: Loreen needs a home out of the city. She is NOT a city girl. Burbs and beyond are ideal for her. She would also do great with another dog in the home :)
Our Foster Parent Says: "Loreen is a sweet little cuddle bunny. It’s sad to see her so stressed out in the city. I take her out three times a day but she gets no better, the noises freak her out. However, I visited a family member in the suburbs for a few days and there was a marked change in her. She calmed quite a bit and took steps on the grass. She used her wee wee pads and slept at night waking once. I feel she will be fine in that environment. She loves her bed and blanket. No interest in toys and loves eating."
Level of dog ownership experience needed:INTERMEDIATE: This dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.)
Energy levelLOWER: Pretty chill indoors and won’t demand endless amounts of stimulation and exercise but still needs a few walks a day (10-30 min each) for potty breaks and to stretch their legs
Potty trained?Using pads in the city. We think she would have a much better time with this once she is out of the city.
Social with other dogs?Yup - fine to be in a home with another dog
Social with cats? Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds.
Comfortable with children? (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)Would be best in a home wihout young kids since she is so sensitive
Okay in the city?Needs to be out of the city!
Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake
How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Puerto Rico or Southern California. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.
PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!
This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes.
