Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bear came to the shelter as an owner surrender on March 11th. He appears to be a mix of terrier and miniature schnauzer. If his legs were shorter, he'd look a lot like a cairn terrier, even down to the color and texture of his wiry coat. We think he's around 2 years old and he's spunky and somewhat vocal, like both breeds. He will be vet checked and neutered on March 20th and his fee is $150. Bear does seem to be okay with other dogs. He doesn't quite know what to think about cats so opts to bark at them. A lot. Could he learn to tolerate them? Who knows? We think he'd do best with kids over 5. He does require a little basic training but is smart and eager to learn. He will require some good exercise and entertainment. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Keep an eye on your emails if you apply. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 12, 2025, 6:30 pm
