Story
Meet Lola!  Lola is a sweet and affectionate Mini Schnauzer (born May 2021) who absolutely loves attention.  She thrives in a home where someone has plenty of time to spend with her, as she enjoys companionship and can get anxious when left alone for too long.  Lola is potty trained and has excellent manners, making her an easy addition to a loving household. Lola would do best in a calm environment with adults or older kids (age 12+) who can provide her with the reassurance and care she needs.  Lola adores snacks and will happily sit by your side, waiting for a tasty treat.  If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion who will always be near, Lola is the perfect match! Here are some other things to know about Lola: She's a lap dog and loves to give kisses Enjoys being active Crate trained, but would prefer to spend her time with you and not be kenneled Knows some commands  Barks sometimes and will let you know what she's thinking :) Scared of little kids or young children Friendly with older kids or teens Potty trained, but has some submissive urination Lola is looking for someone to give her undivided attention.  If Lola sounds like the girl for you, apply today! The suggested adoption donation for Lola is $525, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  [Muddy Paws can also suggest a vet with a reduced cost for alters.]  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2298854##

Story
THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. Melissa(DOB 3/19/2023), or commonly referred to as Missa, is a young parti colored Miniature Schnauzer full of spunk. She arrived as a nervous little girl in her foster home but quickly warned up to her favorite human, foster dad, as he is home all day. Not long after she has become playful with a resident dog or two. She is still working on her potty training and can spend a little time quietly in the kennel. Melissa is still skittish like many rescue dogs and would rather follow you around than let you pick her up. She also is not fond of the grade school child in the home, even going out of her way to bark at him. Perhaps, she might come around to liking him. Otherwise she is a cuddle bug when she wants to, or terrorize toys or explore the house. Melissa is spayed, healthy and up to date on vaccinations. She'd do great in a home with a playful small dog. She needs a securely fenced yard to keep her safe. The suggested adoption donation for Melissa is a minimum of $600 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Approved adopters are required to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs that come from a commercial breeding facility require a securely fenced yard AND a resident companion dog, unless the dog's bio states otherwise. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment. Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information
