Sweet Willow is ready for her forever family, and she deserves all the best after the bumpy road she has endured to get to this point. Willow is just over a year old, about 12 pounds, and her breed(s) are a good guess. We cannot guarantee she is indeed a Schnoodle.
Willow found herself at a large shelter, sounds not so great, but is was her lucky day. She had been injured, perhaps by a dog bite, and her ribs were actually protruding thru her skin. Poor little thing, she must have been in such terrible pain. That was all patched up and soon she would have a repair to her eye(cherry eye) as well as all her vacs and a spay.
When Willow came to rescue she was a bit timid. We totally understand, it doesn't sound like she had too much love and care in her short time on this earth. She was lovingly fostered by a couple that adored her. She gradually came out of her shell and became the silly little girl that she is. Willow even lived with two cats, she wanted them to play with her sooooo bad, and on occasion one would begrudgingly agree to be a buddy. Poor cats-lol-not all of them want a rambunctious puppy girl in their life!
Willow is now in a home with several other dogs. After a period of anxiety and settling in she is the life of the party. Will adores the other dogs, especially the ones that share her love of toys and the silly side of life. Her very best pal is Lydia, a Cavalier/Maltese mix. Lydia has really come out of her shell with Willow's help. Wouldn't it be great if they went home together!!?? It is so special how the bonds form with certain dogs and how they each help each other on their own journey. Lydia was traumatized by her life and was so shut down. Now, her and Willow run laps in the house, chase each other around and all the toys happen to end up on Lydia's favorite blanket.
Willow will be looking for a special loving home that will take the time to let her settle in. Our first priority will be a home with another playful/active dog. She thrives on companionship. She is doing almost perfect with her potty training, as long as she is taken out frequently. So-no long hours alone, that would not be the best thing for such an active, playful and social little girl. She will be fine with older kids, but right now, no little guys. Willow gets so excited when she plays that she will nip/pull the pant leg of her people. It is all in play, not a bit of aggression, but not appropriate for small children.
Willow is such a cuddly, sweet, adorable little girl and we know she will be a very special addition for some lucky family. She has plenty of supplies to go home with her. Her adoption fee is $500. Please email Kristine at joysparrows@gmail.com.
