Story
Meet Peter! Peter is a small, white Mini Schnauzer mix with a lot of personality packed into his little frame. Rescued from the shelter just in time, Peter has been given a second chance at life, and now we’re looking for his perfect forever home. Peter’s ideal adopter is an experienced dog owner who understands that some dogs need a little extra care and patience. Peter has shown some bite tendencies, and while we’re working with a trainer to understand his triggers, it’s important to be mindful of his boundaries. He doesn’t like being picked up and prefers not to be pet unless he comes to you first. When he feels safe and comfortable, Peter can be snuggly and affectionate—but it’s always on his terms. He is good with other dogs, so a canine companion could be a great fit for him. However, because of his biting history, Peter should not be in a home with children. Peter isn’t just a dog—he’s a work in progress who needs someone willing to invest time, patience, and love into helping him thrive. In the right home, Peter’s personality will shine, and he’ll reward you with loyalty and companionship. If you’re the experienced, patient adopter Peter needs, please fill out an application on our website. Peter is waiting for someone to see the good dog he truly is and help him live his best life. Once he warms up, Peter is incredibly affectionate and loyal. He would do best in a quiet household with adults or older children who understand his need for patience and kindness. If you’re looking for a sweet, devoted companion, Peter is ready to meet you and start a new chapter in his life!

Story
The story of Misha (Sweet as can be Schnauzer mix) and Mocha (very loving Chihuahua mix) is becoming all too common in today's world. These sweet girls have lived together their whole lives, and lost their home to a fire. Misha and Mocha were actually found inside the burning home in a crate together, and thankfully rescued. However, this "rescue" landed them in a high-kill Texas shelter where ultimate euthanasia due to overcrowding was inevitable. Misha and Mocha quickly became well-loved pups at the shelter. Their excellent temperaments and lap dog sweetness gave them special privileges that included tons of loving hugs. Farfel's Rescue was sent a plea to save these two precious lives, and we were very happy to speak up for this irresistible pair. Misha is a beautiful 5-6 year old, 11 lb Miniature Schnauzer with a bit of Chihuahua in the mix for that extra cuteness. Mocha is a gorgeous 5-6 year old, 8 lb Chihuahua mixed with a bit of Fox Terrier giving Mocha her stunning coloring. Both girls have received excellent temperament reports from both the shelter and their foster mom. Farfel's received the following report from Misha and Mocha's Texas foster: * * * "These girls are absolutely stunning! I know their photos are awful (sorry!) but I've asked my daughter to give it another try and I'll update the moment I receive new photos. Both of these pups are extremely sweet and SO well-mannered. They get along perfectly with my grumpy Jack Russell and he's even starting to like them as well. It appears that Misha & Mocha have always been together and fit the definition of a bonded pair. They're inseparable during the day and seem to really enjoy each other's company. They sleep in their separate crates at night and seem perfectly happy with that arrangement. These two are a great example of two is easier then one. When I'm busy at my desk, Misha & Mocha are very capable of entertaining each other and seem to enjoy that arrangement. When I signal that I'm done, they're ready for some outdoor time and serious cuddling. I just love these girls! Both girls definitely seem to enjoy life in the slow lane. They're quiet spirits who love their humans and really enjoy their time with their human family. They're extremely happy with a comfy bed, dog-loving people and a warm and loving lap to curl up on for an afternoon nap. These girls will make a great addition to an individual or family that's searching for wonderful and loving best friends." * * * Farfel's rescuers are compassionate and works tirelessly to save the lives of dogs that pass their temperament testing with flying colors. They became strong advocates for Misha and Mocha's rescue and made the arrangements for their ultimate transport to Colorado and a forever home where they would be truly nurtured and respected. Goodbyes and best wishes were said..and Misha and Mocha were on their way to the vet to ready them for their transport to Boulder Farfel's Rescue made the immediate decision that as a bonded pair, we need to honor the power of Misha and Mocha's relationship. We're searching for a very loving and gentle family that absolutely loves dogs. it seems that retirees or a dog-crazy younger family that works from a home-based office would be perfect for these two sweeties. If given the time and opportunity, these girls will be a devoted duo that will be a gift of love to their family. Once Misha and Mocha find their forever family, they will have their dreams come true. We feel that there was most likely a point in their lives when love was plentiful and belly rubs were the order of the day. We want that life for these beautiful dogs again. We feel that any family who is searching for sweet lap dogs that will return their love (once comfortable) a million times over will fall in love with our awesome twosome. These sweet girls with require a lifelong commitment to periodic sudsy baths/brushing and excellent nutrition. A daily salmon oil supplement and 5 star food is recommended for longevity and to keep their coats cottony-soft and very healthy. Misha and Mocha have been fully vetted and vaccinated to support Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. They have also been spayed to support our work for a euthanasia-free future in the canine population. Misha and Mocha will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 12/6/2024. If interested in this snuggly and sweet bonded pair, please fill out an application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Misha and Mocha, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving pair. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
