Story
Meet Peter! Peter is a small, white Mini Schnauzer mix with a lot of personality packed into his little frame. Rescued from the shelter just in time, Peter has been given a second chance at life, and now we’re looking for his perfect forever home. Peter’s ideal adopter is an experienced dog owner who understands that some dogs need a little extra care and patience. Peter has shown some bite tendencies, and while we’re working with a trainer to understand his triggers, it’s important to be mindful of his boundaries. He doesn’t like being picked up and prefers not to be pet unless he comes to you first. When he feels safe and comfortable, Peter can be snuggly and affectionate—but it’s always on his terms. He is good with other dogs, so a canine companion could be a great fit for him. However, because of his biting history, Peter should not be in a home with children. Peter isn’t just a dog—he’s a work in progress who needs someone willing to invest time, patience, and love into helping him thrive. In the right home, Peter’s personality will shine, and he’ll reward you with loyalty and companionship. If you’re the experienced, patient adopter Peter needs, please fill out an application on our website. Peter is waiting for someone to see the good dog he truly is and help him live his best life.

Story
Emmett is a darling boy that was kept in a home with other like pups. No one was sterilized, so the puppies just kept on coming. The owner who took relatively good care of them, is now overwhelmed. We agreed to take them on and take care of their medical needs. Emmett is a nice dog. Medium energy. He could use a little help on the leash since we are confident they were never taken on walks. They are all indoor dogs. Emmett is 3 years old and weighs 21 pounds. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@crdogrescue.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Thank you for looking at a rescue dog for your next family member.

Meet Krissstoff: Your Future Best Friend! Introducing Krissstoff, a charming 2-3 year old Scottish Terrier and Schnauzer mix who is ready to find his forever home! Weighing in at a delightful 17 lbs, Kriss is not just a handsome pup; he’s also up to date on all vaccinations, microchipped, and his neuter surgery will be covered by our rescue organization, Concerned Citizens Animal Rescue Inc. Kriss' journey to finding a loving home hasn't been easy. Rescued from a high-kill shelter in San Bernardino County, California, he and his brother were on the brink of euthanasia due to the devastating Line Fires that forced the shelter to make heartbreaking decisions to accommodate incoming animals. Thankfully, Kriss was given a second chance at life and is now looking for a family to call his own. With his striking looks and sweet personality, Kriss is a joy to be around. He’s friendly and sociable, getting along wonderfully with both dogs and people. His playful spirit shines through when he’s surrounded by his favorite toys and his beloved humans. Kriss is not just a pet; he’s a loyal companion waiting to bring joy and love into your life. Currently residing in Lakewood, CA, with his caring foster mom and dad, Kriss is eager to make new memories with a forever family. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this adorable pup, please reach out to us at info@concernedcitizensanimalrescue.org. We would be happy to provide you with an adoption application and answer any questions you may have. Story
Meet Olive! A spirited six-year-old Cairn Terrier from Gilbert, AZ, whose personality is as vibrant as her tan coat. Olive is a medium-sized dog at thirty pounds, but don’t let her size fool you—her heart and playfulness are much bigger! Her favorite thing in the world? Squeaky toys and chasing balls! She could play fetch all day, especially if it means spending time outdoors, where she loves to roam in the yard and feel the sun on her face. Olive is well-versed in basic obedience commands, knowing sit, down, stay, high-five, shake, and wait. She has had formal training, which makes her an attentive and smart companion, especially in a peaceful environment where she can feel comfortable and safe. However, Olive is not a fan of other animals, so she needs a home where she can be the only pet. Her ideal pet parents will have a secure, fenced yard for her to play in and will understand her need for space from other dogs and cats. While Olive is a bit timid around new people at first, once she feels comfortable, her sweet side shines through. She’s the type of dog who will become your loyal companion, always eager to share her playful energy and love. Olive’s journey hasn’t been without its challenges. She’s experienced two bite incidents when she felt overwhelmed or startled by sudden movements or loud noises. Because of this, Olive needs a family who can provide slow introductions to new people and always respect her boundaries. Her ideal home would be calm and child-free, where she can feel safe and secure. Health-wise, Olive is in good shape but has a liver condition that requires her to take a pill each morning and stick to a special diet. She’s up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, house-trained, and microchipped, making her ready for a new loving family who can meet her needs and offer her the calm, caring environment she thrives in. Could your home be the perfect match for Olive? She’s ready to bring her joy and playful spirit to a new family who understands her quirks and is excited to help her continue her journey.
