Story
Rosalyn is an 8-year-old female dog, weighing about 13 pounds. She exhibits a friendly attitude towards other dogs but shows a considerable amount of shyness around people. Her small size and gentle nature make her well-suited to a quiet home where she can slowly build trust at her own pace. While Rosalyn may take some time to warm up to new human friends, her sociability with other dogs suggests she could thrive in a household with other pets, providing her with companionship and a sense of security. Her patient owner will be rewarded with her loyalty and affection as she becomes more comfortable in her new environment ##2211378##

Story
Buddy is a wonderful pet I have babied for 14 years. He has been been a pleasure but he is now a senior pet and with my current health issues I can not care for him. He is really sweet and loves to be rubbed. He is still active but spends most of his time resting. Buddy's birthday is April 16, 2010 and he has AKC certification. I am only parting with Buddy because I am very ill and can not care for him in manner which he deserves. Buddy needs someone to provide care and attention. He is sweet, lovable and will make a great companion. He does have hearing loss and arthritis but remains in good health.

Orion was rescued from a hoarding situation and taken to a local shelter we have a partnership with. We scooped this handsome dude up along with a few of his furry friends and promised to find him a fabulous forever home. Orion has an adorable underbite and a pair of puppy dog eyes that are impossible to resist. He shines brighter than any star in the sky according to all who have met him! Orion weighs 16 pounds. He does have a shedding coat but could be an option for light allergies. Come find your new favorite constellation with out-of-this-world Orion!     Orion is a glowing constellation of a puppy full of potential and light! We have seen this boy blossom from a scared and confused newly rescued dog to a happy and loving member of his foster family. Orion has gained confidence every day and he’s now strolling confidently around town in his collection of coats and sweaters. Orion is super smart and food motivated so training sessions are a total blast with him. Orion is the typical young dog, he’s energetic when he needs to get his zoomies out but once he’s ready to mellow he’s flopping down for a belly rub and some cuddles. Orion can’t wait to get out and explore all sights California has to offer as long as you are by his side. He’d love to hit the beach, hike some trails, and cuddle up under the stars with you! Our boy will rack up likes on your Instagram with his unique underbite and gorgeous coat! Orion’s dream home is one where he gets all the love and affection he deserves. He has so much to show the world and so much love to give!  Orion wakes up at 7 AM with a wagging tail as he greets the day! He goes on a quick potty walk before breakfast which he happily gobbles up. During the workday, Orion is content to hang out, but loves snoozing under the desk of his foster mom as she works away. He has a snack during lunchtime and gets some cuddles before he takes another snooze. He goes on a few short walks during the day and cycles between sniffing his toys and investigating all the nooks and crannies of his foster home. In the evening, Orion heads out on another walk followed by dinner around 8 PM. Once he starts to unwind from the day, he’s curling up on the couch as he gets all the cuddles and snuggles he can. He then heads to bed around 11 PM in his pen.  Orion lives with a few dogs and loves them both. He was polite to the resident cat who couldn’t care less about canine visitors. Orion loves the teenagers and the adults in his home equally, he’s all about whoever’s ready to shower him in love. Orion walks well on a leash but would benefit from additional training and socialization. Orion is ready to become a shooting star and land right in your arms!!     Orion is an option for homes with recent dog owning experience. Kids should be over the age of 12.November 15, 2024, 5:23 pm

If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. Story
My dog is a 10-month-old girl whom I brought home as a puppy. She is lively and curious, but also very cautious around strangers and new environments. She tends to bark frequently, so I need to be upfront—she may not be well-suited for dense living areas or apartment life. I hope her new home can provide a long-term, stable, and quiet environment with no other pets or young children, and that her adopter has the patience and time to help her adjust through the initial period. I am looking for a responsible adopter who truly understands her personality, can offer her the support and affection she needs, and is committed to not rehoming her again. My goal is to give her a better life by finding a family who genuinely appreciates and cherishes her. If the right adopter cannot be found, I will continue to care for her.

Story
**Clyde is a mixed breed and we cannot guarantee he is allergy-friendly.** Charming, playful, and oh-so-cute, Clyde is the complete package! Clyde is about 3 months old and is the epitome of a happy puppy. He loves to spend his time romping around with a toy or wrestling with his foster brother. He is full of energy and is looking for a family who can ensure his days are full of fun. Clyde currently weighs about 10lbs and we estimate he will be around 35lbs when fully grown. Clyde came to us with his sister (who has already been adopted) after their previous family had to relocate after a house fire and couldn't bring all their dogs with them. They took good care of the puppies and surrendered them to us hoping for them to get great homes.  Clyde got his name because his big scruffy paws make him look like a Clydesdale horse. He has always been significantly bigger than his siblings and is growing like a weed. He is a loving boy who is eager to make friends with everyone he meets. He loves playtime but also appreciates a good cuddle session after he has burned all of his energy. He is very food-motivated and is very smart, which makes training a blast. He is still learning all his basic manners, so needs a family who can dedicate the time to continue working on his training and socialization. Clyde loves other dogs and we think he would do best in a home with another playful young dog so he always has someone to play with. We haven't seen Clyde with cats, but he might do well with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Clyde could make a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years or older. Clyde has been doing great with his housetraining but is still learning and his new family will need to be consistent about working on his training with him. He has done well being crated at night and being left in a pen while his foster parents work from home. He hasn't spent too much time at home alone, so he would do best with a family who can slowly acclimate him to being home alone. Clyde is such an awesome little dude and he is going to make the best addition to a family. If he sounds like he might be the pup for you, submit an adoption application today!   Clyde's adoption fee is $400.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/ Applications are also available on the website  ( www.yolospca.org )  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. November 18, 2024, 8:57 pm
