Story
Madonna is 11 years old,  11 pound female. She is a very calm lady and would do well in a home with similar energy. Madonna is both deaf and blind, she is missing one eye and the other is no longer functional. Madonna has a big heart, in both a figurative and literal sense. She'll require heart medication for her condition indefinitely. But she wants us to let you know her big heart just means she has more room for you in it. <3 All our dogs will come to you spayed and fully vetted. Please fill out our adoption application form at https://www.4dogsfarmrescue.org/adoption ##2301051##

Story
Fritz is an adorable 1 ½ -year-old, 10-pound, deep gray with white, Mini Schnauzer/ Silky Terrier/ Glen of Imaal Terrier Mix. He has an easy-care slightly scruffy coat. He LOVES toys and will make a game of playing with anything he can find. Please have lots of toys! He loves to play with any other playful dog. He can be so sweet and loving! He is a little shy but once he gets to know you, he will beg for love and attention. If you sit on the floor he will crawl onto your lap. He loves his human attention. He is leashed trained. He may need a little more house training, though he is doing well here at the sanctuary. He follows the other dogs outside as a group with the command “go potty” and happily does his business. This adorable boy is ready to show you lots of love and attention. He is a DARLING boy. He has been neutered. He is microchipped and currently vaccinated. Are you ready for some love in your life? Fritz will delight you. We have a Facebook page and hope that you will “Like” us at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61561870361467 see postings of our dogs. Story
My name is Rusty and I’m looking for my perfect home. I’m a sweet and lovable pup, 8 years old and weigh 13.8 pounds, we think he is mixed with Schnauzer. I came to AFC in March of 2024. I came from a hoarder home where 87 dogs were living. I’ve had a long road learning how to be a normal dog but I’m very precious and sweet if you give me a little time to get to know you. If you sit on the floor with me, I will climb into your lap and cover you with snuggles. I imagine I would be just as happy in your cozy recliner. I may need some more house training but I do go in and out on command. When the staff says “Go Potty” I go right out the door. I can use the doggie door too. I’m not a real fan of baths and I hate the blow dryer but I tolerate it. Luckily my scruffy fur is pretty easy care. With a little patience and love, I will learn how to walk on a leash. I’m neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Finding a home with other dogs will definitely help Rusty continue to learn and thrive as a pampered pooch. We have a Facebook page and hope that you will “Like” us at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61561870361467 see postings of other dogs. Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $500 Meet Sardine: The Sassy, Loveable Pup with Personality for Days! *Sardine is an option for Foster-to-Adopt!* Introducing Sardine, a 1-2-year old, 25lb bundle of sass, spunk, and sweetness. This cutie was rescued from the shelter, and while he’s still figuring out the rules of the world, he's quickly proving to be the kind of dog that keeps life interesting. Sardine has a non-shedding coat, making him ideal for allergy sufferers or anyone who just doesn’t want to deal with dog hair all over the house. But don’t be fooled by his sleek, clean exterior—this guy's got personality in spades. Sardine is ready to take over your home and your heart, but be warned: he's got a bit of an attitude, and he’s not afraid to show it. Are you up for the challenge? A Day in the Life of Sardine: Sardine's day starts promptly at 7:30 AM (because, of course, he’s got a schedule). First thing’s first, he heads to the yard for his morning 'business,' then it's time for a nice walk, followed by a solid breakfast. Sardine’s routine includes three walks a day—after breakfast, lunch, and dinner—so he’s staying fit and fabulous. He’ll entertain himself for a couple of hours, but don’t get too comfortable—he’ll want attention every 3-4 hours, or else he’ll start giving you the 'how dare you ignore me?' look. He likes to chill in the backyard when he's not hanging out inside with his humans, and when it’s bedtime, he heads to his crate (even though he’s still getting used to it, he’s a champ). Sardine’s nighttime routine might include some little protest barks, but don’t worry—he’ll be ready to snuggle in the morning. The Sassy Side of Sardine: Now let’s talk about Sardine’s personality. This boy is full of energy and has a slightly rebellious streak. He loves being around people, following you from room to room, and generally making sure you’re aware of his presence. He’s not a 'sit quietly' type of dog—nope, Sardine is more of a 'I need attention NOW!' kind of guy. He’ll get up close and personal for some cuddles, but he’s still learning boundaries, so watch out for the occasional bark or growl if he’s feeling a bit too spoiled. (Trust us, you’ll know when it’s time for a break from the cuddle sessions!) Sardine needs a home with an experienced dog owner who can set clear rules and provide structure. He’s very smart, quick to learn, and will flourish under the right guidance. He’s not afraid to speak his mind, whether it’s barking at the sight of another dog on his walks or expressing his 'I’m not happy with this situation' opinion. But don’t let that scare you—he’s also incredibly affectionate and loyal once he trusts you. Is Sardine the Right Fit for You? Sardine is looking for a home with an experienced dog owner who’s ready to take on a fun, energetic, and occasionally cheeky dog. He needs someone who can help him with socialization—he's a bit of a 'work in progress' when it comes to meeting new dogs, so a home with a confident, well-behaved dog to lead him would be ideal. He’s also fine around kids, but would do best in a home where the children understand he’s still figuring out some of his social skills. If you’ve got the patience, the time, and the heart for a dog like Sardine, you’ll be rewarded with a loyal companion who will keep you on your toes, laughing, and always coming back for more. He's ready to join a home where he can shine and show everyone just how awesome he truly is! A Funny Sardine Story: One of Sardine's most memorable moments was when he had an 'oops' moment in the living room. After he had an accident (yep, the dreaded poop in the house), Sardine immediately understood he had messed up. He crouched down behind the couch, clearly hiding because he knew he was in trouble. But here’s the thing—he quickly learned from the mistake and was back on track. That’s Sardine in a nutshell: he might have a few hiccups along the way, but he’s smart, quick to learn, and knows how to make things right. Are you ready for the Sardine experience? He's waiting for a home that will embrace his sass, his smarts, and his loving nature. Adopt Sardine today and let the fun (and the cuddles) begin!Sardine is only an option for a home that has had a dog previously. If there are children they need to be over the age of 8. Born to bring the party, Cabbage Patch and Polly Pocket are 4 month old Miniature Schnauzer-Maltese mixes with non-shedding coats, friendly faces, and personalities as big as an ‘80s hairdo. These playful, outgoing, and affectionate pups are searching for separate homes where they can each be the center of attention (but don’t worry, they’ll bring the same high-energy charm to different families). Whether you’re a true Gen X legend or just a wannabe who had to Google their names—these pups are here to make you feel young again. Cabbage Patch is a bouncy bundle of joy, always ready for a new adventure. Just like the dolls he’s named after, he’s got an adorable, scruffy look that makes you want to scoop him up and never let go. He starts his mornings with a full-speed zoomie session (gotta get those puppy wiggles out!), then spends his day playing with toys, making friends with every dog, cat, and human in sight, and curling up for snuggles when he’s all tuckered out. He’s the perfect sidekick for someone who loves to be on the move—whether it’s brunch on the patio, a walk through the neighborhood, or a spontaneous road trip, Cabbage Patch is always ready to tag along with his signature puppy grin. Polly Pocket, true to her name, is the ultimate pocket-sized adventurer. She’s got big energy in a little package and is always looking for something fun to do—whether it’s chasing a ball, hopping onto your lap for snuggles, or giving puppy kisses to everyone she meets. With her charming personality and go-anywhere attitude, Polly is a social butterfly who’s happy to meet new people, befriend other dogs, and even tolerate a cat or two (as long as they understand she’s the boss). If you’ve ever wished for a dog who can keep up with your every move but also cuddle up for an ‘80s movie marathon, Polly’s your girl. Daily Schedule – A Totally Rad Puppy Lifestyle 6:00 AM – Wake up and immediately demand attention (puppies don’t believe in snooze buttons, and neither did Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go). 8:00 AM – Morning zoomies, followed by chewing on a toy like it’s a cassette tape left in the sun too long. 10:00 AM – Nap hard, like they just got done moonwalking across the living room. 3:00 PM – Attempt to “help” with work by walking across keyboards and chewing on paperwork—think of it as an analog remix. 6:00 PM – Dinner followed by an epic game of fetch, running back and forth faster than a kid trying to record their favorite song off the radio. 8:00 PM – Cuddle time while watching Real MTV Videos—none of that reality TV nonsense! 10:00 PM – Final potty break before curling up and dreaming of world domination (or at least more treats). These two might have names straight out of the ‘80s, but their love is timeless. They’re playful, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining, ready to bring their boundless joy to two lucky families. While they’ll be heading to separate homes, one thing’s for sure—wherever they go, they’ll bring laughter, love, and a little retro flair. Ready to adopt your new best friend? Grab your leg warmers, cue up some classic tunes, and come meet Cabbage Patch and Polly Pocket before they moonwalk into someone else’s heart!March 7, 2025, 3:33 pm
