Story
My name is TIMONA (Piper) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Poodle/mini Schnauzer mixAge: 2 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 15 lbsHeight: 28 cmCountry of origin: ChinaHighlight(s): Friendly, quiet, loves walks, shyGiven my quiet disposition, you'll think you adopted a mouse. A big fluffy, puffball of a mouse. At the beginning of 2024, my rescuer saw me and three doggie friends happily following a street cleaning lady, hoping to get a piece of food from her. The cleaning lady told my rescuer that the four of us were strays and she had no means of providing for us. She asked my rescuer if she would take the four of us and of course my rescuer did! She got us vet checked, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, groomed and took us to her shelter.Life at the shelter wasn't good for me.  Because I was small, I was often the target of bullying and was bitten by other dogs a few times which made me very apprehensive about the shelter and I tried to hide at corners. So, my rescuer took me to her apartment and I have been living there for more than half a year now. I go about my day there, but being shy, I stay in the corners most of the time. I don‘t “fight” with the other dogs for my rescuer’s attention when she gets home. But when it’s time to go out for a walk, I am the most excited. Walks are super special fun.I am a friendly little fluff ball. I can live with other small dogs, but am rather skeptical of larger dogs, since I was attacked by them. I can live with adult cats, little kitties, I chase. Go figure. Though there is no video proof, my rescuer has a young daughter I get along with.Whether you have another little dog, a cat or no other pets, I will do fine. I'd enjoy daily walks. Dog parks might not be my thing given my experiences though. I am looking for my forever home to enjoy life to the fullest! Energy Level: low-moderateI get along with:Dogs: yes (other small, no large)Cats: yes (adult only, no kittens)Kids: unknown. Rescuer says I am good with her young daughter, but no video proof Fears: bigger dogsTraining:Leash skills: yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: in progress. Please help me finish learning! Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. ##2238378##

Story
Meet Milkweed, aka Millie! This pint-sized Schnauzer mix is a 1-2-year-old bundle of love weighing 15 lbs and standing just 10 inches tall. With her scruffy gray coat, loving eyes, and those perfectly perky ears, Millie is as cute as they come. Millie is a social butterfly who adores other dogs and gets along wonderfully with cats (she mostly ignores them). She's also been friendly with the few kids she's met. While she hasn't had the chance to meet other animals yet, her sweet and gentle personality suggests she'd do great with proper introductions. True to her playful nature, Millie has a hilarious habit of jumping for joy when you come home, sometimes high enough to plant a kiss on your face! She's lightning-fast when running around with her foster brother but just as happy to curl up in your lap for a cozy nap. Millie's leash skills are a work in progress—as she's eager to greet every person and pup she meets! Her house training is also improving daily. At bedtime, she's a pro, running straight to her kennel when told and snoozing soundly all night. Some of her favorite things? Riding quietly in the car, and giving gentle howls of excitement. And though Millie would love to join you for any adventures/errands on the road, she also is the perfect pup when left at home, saving any chewing for her trusty benebone! If you're looking for a sweet, cuddly, and adaptable companion, Millie might just be your perfect match. She's ready to bring endless love into her forever home! This dog has not been tested with other animals besides cats and dogs.
